Glen Powell to lend his voice to upcoming Family Guy Halloween special
As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for animated sitcoms and a penchant for pop culture, I’m genuinely excited about the upcoming Halloween special of Family Guy! The addition of Glen Powell to the cast is a smart move by the creators. His charisma and screen presence, as evidenced in blockbusters like Top Gun: Maverick and Twisters, will undoubtedly breathe new life into the series.
Information is gradually surfacing about what’s in store on television for this year’s Halloween season! At the recent San Diego Comic Con, it was revealed that Glen Powell, famously known for his role in Twisters, will be a guest star in the upcoming Halloween special of the long-running animated sitcom, Family Guy.
On October 14, an exclusive episode (airing only on Hulu) unfolds as Peter competes in his town’s annual pumpkin contest. According to Variety, Powell lends his voice to a character named Patrick McCloskey. Notably, Patrick McCloskey is the current champ of Quahog’s pumpkin contest, so Peter and his friends must give their best efforts to outshine him in this competition.
Previously, it was disclosed that two special episodes for the upcoming autumn season have been planned for “Family Guy.” Since this sitcom won’t officially resume for its 23rd season until midseason, marking a departure from its usual spot on the network’s fall schedule, these specials are meant to keep fans entertained until the series resumes in early 2025. The Halloween and an additional Christmas episode will be released first, with the latter following afterward.
Additionally, renowned British actor Derek Jacobi is joining the cast for the Halloween special, lending his voice to Stewie’s beloved teddy bear, Rupert, alongside Powell.
Powell is currently one of the most promising newcomers in Hollywood, shining brightly in the spotlight. At present, he’s starring in two of the year’s biggest hits – “Twisters” at the box office and “Hit Man” on Netflix. His past roles include popular movies such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone But You”. Additionally, the 35-year-old actor has lent his voice to various shows including “Rick & Morty”, “Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous”, and “Robot Chicken”.
