3 biggest reveals from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ SDCC appearance
As a die-hard Star Trek fan, I’m beyond excited for the upcoming third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. With its release date set for 2025, this series holds a significant place in the Star Trek universe as it continues to draw in new fans while keeping the old ones engaged. The success of Strange New Worlds is crucial for the franchise’s growth and development.
1. “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds hasn’t quite begun its third season yet, but it’s scheduled to air in 2025. This upcoming season is expected to be a significant one not just for the show itself, but also for the entire Star Trek franchise as a whole. As the flagship of the brand, the success of Strange New Worlds will determine the growth and expansion of the franchise.”
In simpler terms, they need to produce at least 10 impressive episodes per season, if not more, as they are currently the only show that has managed to attract a large number of new viewers while keeping their existing fan base engaged. Not all new fans will love the show, just as not every old fan does, but it seems to be effectively connecting with both groups.
Although the third season of the show isn’t over yet, a sneak peek was given for the upcoming episodes where the main characters transform into Vulcans momentarily. The humorous portrayal of Anson Mount with his distinctive standing hair had fans chuckling, but the primary objective was to ignite excitement.
1. Three significant points emerged from the weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, where we got a sneak peek at Season 3.
1. The Gorn are not a pressing threat
1. At the close of season two, we were left hanging with the Gorn threatening to annihilate blameless lives and the USS Enterprise seemingly trapped in an impossible predicament. Yet, it seemed that the ship managed to escape unscathed or barely affected. A sneak peek at the upcoming season hints at the crew being unfazed by the events of the last season, suggesting they may have found a way out of their predicament.
2. Scotty is sticking around.
Montgomery “Scotty” Scott was introduced anew to viewers towards the end of season two, leaving a significant mark on the fanbase. His role in season three remained a mystery until a sneak peek revealed that he was still part of the Enterprise crew.
3. A classic Star Trek character is returning to the series.
At the Star Trek panel in San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that a beloved character from the Original Series will make a comeback on screen. Dr. Roger Korby, who appeared in the episode “What Are Little Girls Made Of?” featuring the Original Series cast, is set to reappear in the prequel series. In this new version, Dr. Korby will be portrayed by Cillian O’Sullivan and his obsession with androids may not be a significant part of his character development. Let’s hope for a less fixated Korby.
