Maya Jama gives sneak peek at Love Island final as she shares snap from behind the scenes rehearsals
As an obsessed fan of Love Island, I can’t contain my excitement as we approach the live final on Monday. The summer has been filled with twists and turns, and I’ve grown attached to each islander’s journey in the villa. Now, only a few remain – Nicole and Ciaran, Mimii and Josh, Matilda and Sean, and Jess and Ayo.
After a scorching summer filled with surprising romance developments and secret kisses, Love Island concludes on Monday night.
While fans are excitedly looking forward to discovering the victor, host Maya Jama has given a peek into the preparations for the live finale through a sneak peek of rehearsals.
In a relaxed and informal setting, the presenter, aged 29, was captured on camera wearing a white crop top and denim shorts while the crew prepared the stage around her.
In contrast to the other episodes in the series, the Love Island finale is broadcast in real time with the audience deciding through their votes who will be crowned the winning couple.
Sharing the sneak peek Maya wrote: ‘Live final rehearsals’ with a nervous face emoji.
After around two months of loving time spent at their Villa in Mallorca, Nicole and Ciaran, Mimii and Josh, Matilda and Sean, and Jess and Ayo have endured as the committed couples.
In the last episode, the islanders will have their final shared meal before expressing their feelings of love towards their partners.
At Sunday night’s episode, TOWIE celebrity Joey Essex came close but failed to make it to the finale as he and Jessy got eliminated instead.
Instead of settling scores with their ex-costars from the sea, they had to identify which couple they thought was the poorest match. Joey felt they were targeting him unfairly.
The ex-Islanders cast numerous votes in favor of Ayo Odukoya and Jess Spencer. However, unfortunately for them, it was Joey and Jessy who were ultimately voted off.
Joey and Jessy earned a combined total of seven votes, whereas Ayo and Jess received only four. This implies that these two pairs were among the top four couples advancing to the finals on Monday.
Matilda Draper and Sean Stone also received two votes from former contestants Omar Nyame and Vint.
Prior to the announcement of the decision, Maya informed the Love Island participants: “One more pair will be leaving the villa today, concluding their Love Island experience, and I’m afraid this choice isn’t yours to make.”
‘Your future on Love Island will be decided by some very familiar faces.’
Then, a series of former Islanders made their way into the villa, and headed to the firepit.
After being asked to make a decision, the group chose to eliminate Joey and Jessy from the competition.
Joey subsequently claimed that he was leaving the villa ‘at a good time’.
He explained: ‘It feels good to be leaving.
Reflecting on my recent experience inside, I can’t help but feel elated and fulfilled. I’ve been through the full gamut of emotions that come with living in the villa – the highs, the lows, the twists and turns. And as I prepare to leave, I want to make every moment count. It’s my birthday on Monday, making it feel like the perfect time to go out with a bang. The journey has been an unforgettable one, shaping me in ways I never thought possible.
Joey, known for his early success on The Only Way Is Essex over a decade ago, shared afterwards that he hadn’t anticipated winning the competition.
I’ll be visiting my cherished friends and family once I leave the villa. I might even take the opportunity to make amends with some of them for not sharing my experience with them earlier. Then, I’ll get back to living my best life, Joey Essex way.
