As a dedicated Overwatch 2 gamer with years of experience following and supporting various esports events, I must admit that the recently concluded Overwatch 2 Esports World Cup 2024 left me somewhat underwhelmed in terms of viewership numbers compared to previous major tournaments. With peak viewers reaching only 100,188 during the ZETA Division vs Toronto Ultra match and an average of 33,310 viewers, it’s clear that there was a noticeable decrease from the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) 2024 Major with its peak viewership of 125,146.
The event happened between July 24 and July 28.
Esports Charts, which collaborates with the Overwatch 2 Esports World Cup 2024 organizers, has recently disclosed the viewership data.
