The original Phantom comic was a game-changer for the industry. The character drew inspiration from classic adventure heroes like Tarzan and the Shadow, but also introduced many of the elements that would define the modern superhero – think Batman, Superman, and Captain America. In fact, The Phantom is considered the first costumed superhero to appear in a comic book. Writer Reginald Hudlin is well-versed in the world of superheroes, having written Black Panther for Marvel Comics from 2005 to 2008, making him a great fit for this adaptation.

Warner Bros. is facing attention as a merger with Paramount and Skydance approaches. Paramount’s CEO, David Ellison, told movie theater owners at CinemaCon that the combined studios plan to release at least 30 movies each year. He also assured them that movies will play in theaters for at least 45 days before becoming available on streaming services after 90 days. Warner Bros. recently announced a very full schedule of 27 films planned for release in the coming years, and hinted that even more projects are on the way. Netflix has released a trailer for its new series, Mating Season, which will begin streaming on May 22nd. The first season will have ten episodes, and the trailer’s release date was intentionally scheduled to coincide with National Horny Day – yes, that’s a real holiday! The trailer makes it clear that the series is quite explicit.

Dr. Gregory House, the main character on the show, deliberately avoids wearing a white coat – a common symbol of doctorly authority and care. This isn’t just a fashion choice; House is more interested in solving medical mysteries than connecting with patients. He actively dislikes emotional interactions, and a traditional doctor’s coat would likely encourage them. According to Jacobs (as reported by TVLine and Monsters & Critics), the show’s creators specifically didn’t want to see the typical image of “white coats in the hallway” in their new medical drama, and this influenced House’s character design.

As a huge fan, I’ve rewatched The Big Bang Theory so many times! But honestly, some episodes haven’t aged as well. Especially after Penny’s friends joined in seasons three and four, things started to shift a little. A few episodes just have jokes that don’t land now, or they try something different with the tone that doesn’t quite work. Sometimes they’ll even do things that feel a bit off for the characters, or slow down a relationship you’re really rooting for. There are about eight episodes that, if I’m doing a rewatch, I usually skip – they just don’t quite hit the same cozy, feel-good vibe as the rest of the series.
