  • Experimentation with different Saviors and Arcanas are recommended
  • There’s a lot of Hybrid classes to work around with in Starsavior

StarSavior is a new role-playing game (RPG) created by Studio Bside, the team behind Counter:Side. In the game, you take command of the Saviors and wield the power of the StarSavior. If you’re just starting out and want to know which characters are the strongest, this tier list is here to help!

Ranking the Saviors based on gameplay in StarSavior

This game combines elements of Umamusume and Honkai Star Rail, blending character training with strategic, turn-based battles. It features a rogue-like system for building your character’s abilities. In StarSavior, players train a ‘Savior’ at the NOA Academy and then use them in both player-versus-player (PVP) and player-versus-environment (PVE) game modes.

Simply training up Saviors and adding them to teams won’t be enough to succeed. The game uses an Arcana card system – much like the Support Card System in Umamusume. You’ll train Saviors to become relics, essentially artifacts, that boost your main Savior and enhance the entire team’s abilities, preparing them for battle.

This tier list is for the Global server and includes all recently added characters. I’ll be ranking characters into four groups: S, A, B, and D. The rankings will consider character roles: ‘Ranged’ units (Rangers and Casters), ‘Supporters’, ‘Close Ranged’ units (Strikers and Assassins), and ‘Defenders’ (tanks).

Best Savior in StarSavior Overview

Currently, the game features five character classes: Ranger, Caster, Support, Striker, Assassin, and Shield. Characters also utilize one of five elements: Sun, Moon, Star, Order, and Chaos. While there are only two rarity levels for characters – SSR and SR – based on the progression of their previous game, CounterSide, we might see even rarer, more powerful characters added in the future.

Ranger and Caster classes deal damage from a distance, while Supporters focus on healing and applying helpful or harmful effects to allies and enemies. Assassin and Striker are close-combat damage dealers, and Defenders act as tanks, primarily protecting the team by drawing enemy attention.

Picking the right Savior character, based on their special abilities, is crucial for building a strong team. Whether you’re battling other players or completing story missions, these are the best choices for each character type to help you succeed in all game modes and advance quickly at the NOA academy.

Best S-tier Units in StarSavior

StarSavior Asherah (Supporter/Healer hybrid with massive utility)

Asherah is currently considered the most powerful character in the game. She excels at healing, can both extend and remove negative effects on allies, provides significant team-wide boosts (like increased critical hit or elemental damage), and is particularly effective in longer battles thanks to her strong control abilities.

Asherah excels at finding and taking advantage of enemy weaknesses, especially in challenging PvE levels with time limits or lots of negative effects. She’s already stronger than most units even without upgrades, and further enhancements make her an incredibly powerful support character who can both deal damage and keep the team alive.

StarSavior Mureil (Debuff extender and control specialist)

Mureil extends the duration of negative effects on enemies, like reduced attack or defense. She becomes more powerful through stages, but these stages are often tied to specific turn limits or require applying many debuffs. Newer in-game challenges are designed to work well with Mureil’s abilities, making her a helpful character for progressing through the mid-game.

StarSavior Bunnygirl Claire (High single-target DPS specialist)

Claire strengthens her defenses while attacking, gradually increases her damage output each turn, and consistently deals significant bursts of damage. She’s a great addition to teams designed to fight bosses and offers dependable performance when you need a consistent damage dealer instead of a high-risk, high-reward one.

StarSavior Bunny Scarlet (High single-target Ranged DPS specialist)

Like Bunnygirl Clair, Scarlet gets stronger as she attacks, steadily increasing her damage each turn. She consistently deals high burst damage, making her great for teams fighting bosses, and a dependable option when other powerful, high-burst characters aren’t ideal.

StarSavior Hilde (The Tank for PvP)

Hilde is a powerful, limited-time unit who excels at both defense and offense. She builds up strong defenses by removing harmful effects and becoming temporarily immune after each ability. Unusually, her damage output increases as her health does.

Final Thoughts

In the current player-versus-player (PvP) environment of Starsavior, the newest characters are dominating the game. They’re built to be powerful, with abilities that deal a lot of damage, but they usually need specific, rare support characters to perform at their best.
