Can Melanie save her friends in Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 2?

As a long-time Snowpiercer fan and avid gamer, I was absolutely hooked by the latest episode of Season 4. The tension and stakes were higher than ever before as Melanie found herself in a moral dilemma: should she hand herself over to the Animal Squad to save her friends or let the passengers on Snowpiercer perish?

In the second episode of “Snowpiercer” Season 4, Melanie faced a difficult decision: Should she surrender to the Animal Squad, or let the inhabitants of the Snowpiercer perish?

Caution: This post contains major spoilers from Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 2

The episode continued from where it left off in the premiere, with Miss Audrey revealing what had happened nine months prior. We learned why the Animal Squad seized control of the train: they weren’t supposed to kill Melanie or injure the train passengers.

Milius found himself in a predicament, requiring Melanie’s presence. The most effective solution he could think of was to confine 100 people inside the Market cart and create a hole in its ceiling, intending to scare Melanie into coming to him. However, Till managed to obstruct this opening, only delaying the inevitable for a brief moment.

Melanie was granted the necessary time by that situation. She didn’t surrender herself, but instead intervened to rescue her friends.

Melanie found another way into the engine in Snowpiercer Season 4, Episode 2

In the course of this episode, the Animal Squad seized control of the Engine Room. Their objective was to reroute the train onto an alternate track. To their surprise, this new path led them beneath the ground. It has since been revealed that the Animal Squad was the military branch of a research team. This team played a crucial role in creating the warmer pockets that ultimately made New Eden habitable.

A group of researchers, possibly headed by Alex’s father, aim to utilize Snowpiercer to discharge additional chemicals, forming a network of habitable areas. These newly created warm zones should interconnect, revitalizing the planet once more.

It’s clear that everyone involved could have handled the situation differently, resulting in less conflict in this instance.

In the end, Melanie came to understand that she couldn’t surrender so easily. She exited the train at the intake compartments instead, resulting in the cold air entering the Engine Room and making it uninhabitable for Milius and his guard. Consequently, she managed to open the Market doors, enabling Miles, Till, Audrey, and others to leave safely.

What happened to Miss Audrey in Snowpiercer?

Nine months after the episode’s conclusion, new developments unfolded. The Animal Squad, despite Melanie’s decision to release chemicals to warm the Earth, continued with their own plans. A surprising revelation emerged: Milius harbored an intention to bring down New Eden. However, the reason behind this desire is yet to be disclosed.

I worked alongside Ben and Till, our goal being to help Till hop onto the cart bound for New Eden, carrying an urgent warning. Suddenly, chaos erupted around us, and without a choice, Audrey was shoved into the cart instead. That’s how she wound up in New Eden.

Miss Audrey’s face was affected in some way by the black gas discharged when the Animal Squad’s suits were struck. This mysterious gas raises questions about the team and their safety. What transpired with them, and can Miss Audrey make it through this ordeal?
