Dana White is pissed at Muhammad Mokaev, Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall odds & Claressa Shields KO

As a long-time combat sports enthusiast and avid gamer, I’m always excited to dive into the latest news from the world of MMA and boxing. In today’s daily column, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on some intriguing headlines and developments in the scene.

In this new daily feature, I’ll share and analyze the latest combat sports news from various sources. Look forward to my insights on the day’s major or intriguing headlines every morning.

Dana White fired Muhammad Mokaev after UFC 304 dud

At UFC 304, Muhammad Mokaev failed to meet expectations according to UFC president Dana White. Annoyed by this underperformance, White stated that Mokaev is no longer under contract with UFC. White believes that the Professional Fighters League (PFL) will benefit from acquiring an unbeaten fighter like Mokaev.

Mokaev is an impressive, unbeaten fighter. However, his matches aren’t particularly thrilling for viewers. The highly-anticipated face-off against Manel Kape, following weeks of heated build-up, unfortunately turned out to be a disappointment. Still, Dana White may yet reconsider his decision. Let’s wait and see.

Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall odds

Following Tom Aspinall’s impressive 60-second victory over Curtis Blaydes, spectators clamored for a title unification bout between Aspinall and Jon Jones. The betting odds are currently equal for both fighters, at -110 each.

Surprisingly close are the odds for this Jones fight, with him typically being the clear favorite. It’s been a while since I’ve seen opening odds so evenly matched. (Even though it was unintentional, that’s a nice pun you have there with “odd”!)

Claressa Shields knockout video

Last Saturday night, as MMA enthusiasts tuned in to UFC 304, Claressa Shields, the undisputed greatest women of all time (GWOAT), added another impressive knockout to her collection. This knockout came against Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse during a fight held in Detroit.

I find it astonishing that so many people weren’t aware Shields was competing, given her remarkable athletic abilities. She shuns self-promotion and unfortunately, her fights seem to garner little interest. It’s unfortunate because her latest knockout performance was impressive, adding yet another accolade to her already legendary status as one of the greatest female boxers in history.
