As a lifestyle expert and someone who has had the privilege of watching the lives of beloved celebrities unfold before my very eyes, I cannot help but be deeply moved by the passing of Shannen Doherty from breast cancer at the age of 53. Having grown up with the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210, I have a unique perspective on their journeys and the profound impact they’ve had not only on our screens but also in our lives.

Jennie Garth has shared that it’s been pleasant having her “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-stars by her side during this difficult time following Shannen Doherty’s passing at 53 years old.

Shannen tragically died on July 13 following a long battle with breast cancer. Jennie, 52, expressed that she is still trying to come to terms with her emotions and called the loss “devastating.”

In an interview on Today this past Friday, Jennie, aged 52, discussed the recent news with hosts Sheinelle Jones, Al Roker, and Jacob Soboroff. She acknowledged that the information was still quite new to her.

Jennie shared, “I’m still coming to terms with the sadness. Her battle with cancer had been ongoing for quite some time, but deep down, I couldn’t quite believe she wouldn’t pull through. Somehow, her resilience and professionalism had instilled in us a sense of hope. So, when it finally happened, it took us all by surprise.”

When Jacob inquired about the conversation with the Beverly Hills, 90210 cast regarding Shannen’s passing, Jennie replied: “It’s comforting to have our family from that past shared experience there for us during both good and difficult moments. It only strengthens our bond.”

A few days ago, Jennie shared her thoughts, which were prompted by the recent passing of Shannen and Luke Perry in March 2019 – an event that caused her to reflect deeply on the fragility of life.

On Monday, during an episode of their podcast 90210MG, she talked about the issue with Tori Spelling, who is 51 years old. This conversation took place approximately one week after Shannen passed away at the age of 50 following an unfortunate death. Additionally, it has been five years since Luke’s demise at the age of 52 due to a massive stroke.

The actress from Urbana, Illinois, who acted as Kelly Taylor in 292 episodes of the successful Fox show from 1990 to 2000, expressed that the passing of her long-term co-stars left her with a sense of deep fear regarding the subject of mortality.

In the aftermath of Luke’s passing and Shanzen’s recent news, I find myself pondering with a sense of unease. The fragility of life becomes strikingly clear to me. It feels as if any one of us could be next, and that thought is genuinely terrifying.

Tori, who acted as Donna Martin on the television program, shared that she had always been timid, but Shannen’s passing filled her with sadness.

Tori expressed sadness instead of fear as she watched her friend pass by, having faced health challenges in her own past.

Tori expressed: “I was disappointed by the second part of her story, yet eagerly anticipated it for her and deeply hoped she would experience it.”

After Luke’s passing in late 2019, I found myself reaching out to my former costars Shannen, Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green, Gabrielle Carteris, and Ian Ziering. It had been a while since we last worked together on Beverly Hills, 90210, but the bond we shared on set was something that could never truly fade. So, we decided to reunite for a new project – BH90210. In this intriguing series, we would step into the shoes of fictionalized versions of ourselves, allowing us to explore both our past and present lives in a unique and captivating way.

When Luke passed away, I felt like I had lost an essential part of my own stability and structure. It’s been a long journey trying to make sense of his loss.

Jennie expressed, “Only those who experienced it with us truly get it. It’s a challenge to accept that others can fully comprehend our deep connection.”

Despite Shannen’s frequently discussed health issues, Jennie was shockingly caught off guard by the news of her castmate’s death, given her known ability to bounce back.

“We knew she was battling illness and putting up a fierce fight, yet the news still came as a shock to us,” Jennie expressed, admitting she hadn’t anticipated Shannen’s battle with cancer ending in this way.

In 2015, the actress first learned she had breast cancer, but it later went into remission. Unfortunately, the cancer came back in a more advanced form, known as stage four, in 2017, and spread to her brain last year.
