During the trial, Marquez mentioned that he viewed body camera recordings which captured various individuals present at the scene shortly following the shooting incident.
In the video, Lieutenant Timoteo Benavidez was spotted searching for the fake gun, and later received it from armorer Hannah Gutierrez- Reed. It’s important to mention that Gutierrez-Reed was subsequently sentenced to 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter.
“That action didn’t fit the situation. We’re all accustomed to watching TV shows and films. Manipulating evidence by moving it isn’t part of the script,” Martina explained.
