Kamala Harris leaves internet divided over ‘cringeworthy’ appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Finale as she reminds viewers to vote
As a woman who has experienced both the struggle of growing up in poverty and the fear of gun violence, I strongly support Kamala Harris’ vision for America. Her call for safety from gun violence resonates deeply with me, as I understand the fear and anxiety that comes with living in communities where such violence is prevalent.
During the final episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season nine, Vice President Kamala Harris made an appearance, encouraging viewers to exercise their right to vote and express their opinions at the polls.
As the first Vice President of the United States to feature on Paramount+’s hit reality show, the politician, aged 59, highlighted the significant matters in the 2024 election for American viewers.
“Hello all, this is Kamala Harris speaking. Every day, we witness efforts to undermine our fundamental rights and liberties, among which is the freedom for every individual to be true to themselves and express their love openly and proudly,” she expressed.
Harris emphasized: “As we defend against these assaults, it’s crucial to keep in mind that nobody stands alone. We are a team, and each of us has the ability to make a difference through our vote. So, don’t forget to exercise your power by registering to vote at vote.gov before November.”
In this episode, recorded prior to Harris’ announcement of her presidential campaign following Biden’s decision not to run for reelection, she had a conversation with judges Michelle Visage, Jamal Sims, Lance Bass, Leslie Jones, and Cheyenne Jackson.
Following the former prosecutor’s impassioned message, Jackson asked: ‘Can I get an amen?!’
The clip ends with Jones turning to the camera and saying: ‘You betta vote!’
Social media users had varying reactions to her look. Some found it mortifying, labeling it “extremely embarrassing,” while others appreciated her ability to connect with the youth demographic.
‘I just know that’s gonna piss off a lot of people… and I’m here for it,’ one mused.
Another wrote they were ‘living for the Kamala promo.’
‘KAMALA IS FOR THE GIRLS AND GAYS,’ a third declared.
Others criticized her for appearing on a reality show.
One X user commented, “Politicians should avoid delivering important messages through reality shows as it makes the issues seem less significant.”
The finale of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, featuring Harris, will air on Friday, July 26.

The first video for the campaign was shared on social media, but they haven’t bought any TV spots showcasing the vice president yet. Instead, they have been focusing on digital advertising.
On the very same day that Biden withdrew from the presidential campaign, his team began displaying digital advertisements endorsing Harris and encouraging contributors to donate funds for her presidency bid.
Over 1.1 million people contributed over $100 million to the Harris campaign within a day and a half.
In the previous year, Harris vigorously opposed a historic number of anti-LGBTQ proposals presented in state legislatures throughout the US.
At a Pride celebration organized by GLAAD in the year 2023, she criticized certain individuals labeled as leaders and extremists for attempting to take significant steps back on progress.
‘We’re not having it. Not on our watch,’ she said.
NBC News reports that among the passed laws were Tennessee’s “anti-drag legislation” and Arkansas’ ban on healthcare for minors involving gender transition.
