SWAT lands Chicago Fire vet as new recurring guest in Season 8

As a long-time fan of SWAT, I have seen my fair share of team changes over the years. The announcement that Season 8 would be adding new recurring guests didn’t come as a shock to me, given the losses we faced in Season 7. Two of our beloved team members departed, leaving Hondo with the daunting task of finding worthy replacements.

In the eighth season of SWAT, some new recurring actors are joining the team. This isn’t unexpected given that some regular cast members have left. Notably, one of these newcomers is an experienced actor from Chicago Fire.

As a passionate fan, I’d recount it this way: I was fully prepared for the seventh season to be the last, as that had been the initial plan. But then, miraculously, the seventh season was given the green light, and with it came the shocking revelation that it would not be the end after all. The creators wrote the finale under the assumption that it would indeed be the final episode. However, CBS unexpectedly changed their mind, allowing for an eighth season to materialize.

I was bummed out when we lost two teammates during Season 7. Fans are still upset about it, but it seems like those departures are here to stay. As the team leader, I now need to bring in some new blood, and it looks like we’ve got two fresh recruits joining us.

Annie Ilonzeh is joining SWAT Season 8

I’m thrilled to share that according to TVLine, I’ll be joining my favorite show with a recurring role! I’ll be portraying the character of Devin Gamble, who will become the second-in-command on Hondo’s team. Can’t wait to bring this new character to life and be part of the amazing storyline!

Fans of “One Chicago” are familiar with Emily Foster, who works as a paramedic at Firehouse 51. At the close of the eighth season’s unexpected finale, Foster received news she had been accepted into medical school. Choosing to pursue this opportunity, she bid farewell to Firehouse 51.

Niko Pepaj upped to series regular for SWAT Season 8

In addition to Ilonzeh becoming a regular cast member, “SWAT” Season 8 promotes Niko Pepaj to a series regular role. Previously introduced as Alfaro in Season 7, Pepaj’s character proved his worth during the season finale. Initially, Tan had doubts about the new recruit, but those concerns were later alleviated.

It wasn’t too shocking when Hondo learned from Hicks that he had the authority to select the new team members. At that moment, it became evident that Alfaro was the one he intended to bring on board.
