Ein Analysis and Theorycraft

As a seasoned player with hundreds of hours under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of new characters joining the roster in this game. From my perspective, Ein seems like a character who might not live up to the hype for most players, especially those who are looking for high damage output or versatility in their roster.

Before Ein was unveiled to the public, I eagerly anticipated her arrival and made some preliminary observations. However, I’ll wait until after she’s officially released to provide a comprehensive analysis and user guide based on thorough testing.

Overview

  • Decent Non-Pilgrim DPS
  • Skill 2 can make or break her rating (will be updated)
  • Self-Buffing Nikke, making her rather flexible in various teams

Newbie/Incomplete Box Section

Instead of “Ein isn’t holding her own against top-tier DPS characters, but she can keep pace with some average non-pilgrim DPS options. Placing her above run-of-the-mill shotgun wielders like Drake and Sugar, except in shotgun teams.” You could also say:

If Ein’s skill number 2 doesn’t function as anticipated (which will be explained later), then adding Ein to your wishlist might be worth considering. Otherwise, it’s not yet recommended.

Ein Analysis and Theorycraft

Skill 1: Feather Standby

When you begin battling, this ability triggers and impacts only you. It summons four Near Feathers. During the third stage of your Burst Skill, this ability becomes active once more, exclusively benefiting yourself. Your attack power increases by 70.12% for a duration of ten seconds.

“A noteworthy ability she possesses is referred to as ‘passive,’ granting a significant attack boost and initial burst damage at the beginning of each round in the form of ‘Near Feathers‘ bonuses. This ATK enhancement becomes active at the onset of every burst III, allowing her to reap its benefits regardless of whether or not she initiates a burst action.”

Skill 2: Feather Shot

As a fan, I’d describe it like this: When I summon Near Feather, it targets one enemy randomly. With each attack using Near Feather, that enemy gets hit with 90.81% of my final attack power as true damage. On the other hand, when I go for a Full Charge attack, the power of my next strike increases by 80% for just one shot.

At Ein’s part, things become a tad complex. The way this ability manifests can greatly impact whether she shines or merely averages out. According to the skill description alone, its influence seems somewhat lackluster.

At the beginning of a battle, Ein summons four “Near Feathers,” instantly boosting its attack power by approximately 363% or the equivalent of 90 attacks from each feather. This translates to roughly two full charges of a sniper rifle for Ein.

Every burst of Ein summons approximately six “Near Feathers.” This translates to an attack power increase of 544%. Essentially, this is equivalent to three fully charged sniper shots from Ein. However, these figures may not be impressive, particularly for Nikke who heavily depends on their burst to inflict damage.

If we assume that a Near Feather effect only activates once and then vanishes, I have my doubts because in Ein’s promotional video, it appears that the Near Feathers remain on the battlefield for a certain period of time, much like Venti’s burst which deals damage per second. However, this is not explicitly stated for Ein.

If Ein functions much like Venti, and it inflicts “Near Feather” damage at a rate of ticks per second for a span of x, then Ein would certainly be quite overpowered in this situation. However, if this isn’t the case, she can be considered average. This assessment will be revised promptly.

In the Nikke Motion Demonstration, we have Ein using the SR (Summon Rarity) “Young Punk.” She functions as an Assault character and inflicts genuine damage through her “Near Feathers” ability. The more “Near Feathers” she has, the faster her attack rate becomes. With her Burst Skill activated, she summons a massive amount of “Near Feathers,” resulting in significant damage.

Burst: Feather All-Range

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve come across numerous abilities that leave me in awe. But among them all, this one stands out as particularly impressive.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed that Ein’s Self-buffs significantly enhance her damage output. Specifically, the true damage from her feathers gets multiplied by 1.553, and her charge damage receives a considerable boost. However, there’s a downside – Ein lacks the charging speed boost that top-tier sniper rifles are renowned for. Consequently, the combined charge damage from her burst and Skill 2 falls short in comparison to a simple 100% Charge speed buff, which can make a huge difference depending on individual player clicking speeds.

What is True Damage?

In simpler terms, texts with “True Damage” bypass defense, providing an equivalent effect to a 20% attack boost against bosses in synced content. The significance of True Damage becomes more pronounced when confronting challenges far beyond the level of a Nikke, such as high CP deficit clearing. Regrettably, there are currently no notable skills that can inflict substantial True Damage apart from the treasure item Laplace.

Campaign

Without the ability to pierce through defenses or deal area-of-effect damage, Ein’s sniper rifle is not expected to perform effectively in campaigns. Her skill 2 passive, which deals the best-case scenario of 90% damage per second to nearby enemies with Feather, would be insufficient for clearing waves due to its slow pace.

Arena

Ein doesn’t generate bursts because she is a sniper, and her burst capabilities are insufficient for taking down opposing Nikkes in one hit. This limitation would render her useless in Arena if her primary role was to take out enemies quickly. However, if her Near Feathers inflict damage over multiple ticks, she could potentially be effective against stalling teams, but it is unlikely.

Special Interception | Solo Raid | Union Raid

In her role as a regular recruit, Nikke has potential to serve as a non-pilgrim boss for damage dealing (DPS), since there are few other Nikkes capable of dishing out significant damage in the desired recruitment pool. Notable exceptions include Alice, Maxwell, and shotgun teams. However, she wouldn’t be considered top priority.

If Ein weren’t to make good use of Solo Raid or Union raids, especially when facing elementally weak enemies, it would be under the condition that her Skill 2 didn’t activate multiple times.

Closing Thoughts

If Anis’ skill 2 doesn’t function unexpectedly, go ahead and grab “Sparkling Summer” of hers. Her thighs are undeniably alluring.
