As a dedicated fan of The Voice Australia, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and disappointment with the upcoming season’s coach lineup change. On one hand, I’m thrilled to see new coaches LeAnn Rimes, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Adam Lambert join series veteran Guy Sebastian. Their unique musical backgrounds promise an intriguing dynamic and fresh perspective on the show.

Channel Seven’s popular singing show is set to begin its thirteen-season run once again on our screens.

Starting in August, The Voice Australia will undergo a fresh appearance as three new coaches, LeAnn Rimes (41), Kate Miller-Heidke (42), and Adam Lambert (42), join established artist Guy Sebastian (42).

As a long-time fan of that popular show, I’ve been following the news about Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy, and Jason Derulo not returning for another season. Given my deep interest in the show and its behind-the-scenes happenings, I can only speculate on why these talented artists have decided to part ways with the production team.

A source close to the production shares that the star’s high salary demands and the producers’ goal to reduce expenses were the causes behind the casting change.

An insider revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that the casting process for the decision made last year had been ongoing for quite some time.

An insider revealed that raising salaries is essential to attract and retain top-tier talent for the show, as the cost of keeping the previous cast proved to be prohibitively high.

As an obsessed fan, I can’t help but feel that the company’s explanation doesn’t sit right with me. When they mentioned that Jessica, Rita, and Jason were all too occupied to take on those lucrative paychecks, my inner voice screamed in disagreement. After all, who among us wouldn’t make time for such an enticing opportunity? It just doesn’t add up.

‘It certainly did have a lot to do with keeping the costs down.’ 

An insider revealed that Channel Seven’s executives are feeling apprehensive about the upcoming coach lineup, as they have received high praise in the past for their on-screen compatibility and diversity.

I couldn’t contain my excitement back in 2022 when Keith Urban announced his departure from the show. I, for one, was among those who fretted and worried about how the network would cope without him. But boy, were we wrong to doubt them! The success of the new addition to the show has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that they had indeed found an excellent replacement.

In 2023, Jason presented a significant financial risk for Channel Seven. They understood that if they kept him on their show, his management would demand an increased compensation package for him to return this season. Unfortunately, the cost proved to be prohibitive in the end.

I, as a devoted fan of Rita, understood her perspective when it was expressed that she believed she had given more than her best to the show and felt it was only fair for her to be compensated with a higher salary, considering Guy Sebastian’s prominent position.

An insider reported that Jessica Mauboy may have asked for the same salary as Guy, potentially leading her to leave the show.

Among the new coaches this year, Guy is the lone exception who returned from the previous team consisting of Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy, and Jason Derulo.

LeAnn, originally named Margaret LeAnn Rimes Cibrian, has amassed over 40 hit singles in her music career since becoming a renowned country artist at just 13 years old with her 1996 release of “Blue.”

In the interim, supporters are familiar with new coach Adam Lambert as he has been the lead singer for Queen’s live performances since 2011.

Alternative pop singer Kate is best known for her tracks The Last Day on Earth and Zero Gravity.
