NASCAR Cup Series: No more races on NBC for over a month

As a dedicated NASCAR fan with years of experience following the sport, I’m always looking forward to the next race on the calendar. But the three-week break due to NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics in Paris is leaving me feeling anxious and restless. I’ve grown accustomed to the weekly rhythm of races, and this unexpected hiatus is throwing a wrench in my plans.

After the Brickyard 400 race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon, the NASCAR Cup Series will take a three-week hiatus. This is because NBC is dedicated to broadcasting the Summer Olympics taking place in Paris, France.

As a longtime NASCAR fan and avid racer myself, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite sport is headed back to one of its most iconic tracks – Richmond Raceway. With its rich history and unique challenge for drivers, this four-turn, 0.75-mile (1.207-kilometer) oval in Virginia holds a special place in my heart. Having raced on similar tracks before, I can attest to the intense concentration and skill required to navigate these tight, fast circuits. So, you can imagine my excitement when I learned that Richmond will be hosting its second race of the year on August 11. The energy and excitement surrounding this event is always palpable, both for the drivers and fans alike. Can’t wait to see who comes out on top!

In the beginning, the first 22 races of the season took place at various locations. One of these events happened at Richmond towards the end of March, coinciding with Easter Sunday.

But the 400-lap Cook Out 400 is not set to be shown live on NBC.

As a longtime Formula One fan and someone who has followed the sport for decades, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with fellow enthusiasts. Personally, I’ve missed the races during NBC Sports Network’s shutdown after 2021, but now we have something to look forward to!

As an excited fan, I’d describe the second race on my calendar as the Firekeepers Casino 400, happening at Michigan International Speedway on August 18. Can’t wait for Sunday!

As a dedicated NASCAR fan with years of experience following the thrilling races and cheering for my favorite drivers, I’m always eagerly anticipating the next event. However, this time, I have to admit that my patience is being tested. The upcoming race on NBC isn’t until Saturday, August 24. That’s quite a wait for someone like me who lives and breathes NASCAR!

From 2020 to 2023, the race at Daytona served as the final event of the regular season. However, this year, it is only the second-to-last race in the regular season schedule.

The three-week intermission led to postponing the season finale by a week, whereas the Daytona race remains on its usual weekend. It is the last of NBC’s four races in the regular series schedule.

The last race of the regular season at Darlington Raceway is planned for September 1st Sunday. This event will be broadcast live on USA Network. For the initial four races of the ten-race playoffs, USA Network will be in charge of the live telecast, whereas NBC will handle the final six races.

Richmond Raceway will hold the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series event on August 11, 2024, which is a Sunday. The Cook Out 400 race is slated to air live on USA Network from 6:00 p.m. ET onwards. Don’t miss out on the excitement – start a free trial with FuboTV today!
