Millie Gibson recently had to go to the emergency room and have surgery after experiencing severe stomach pain. Doctors discovered she had appendicitis, and she explained it was a close call, as her appendix could have burst.
The 21-year-old actress, known for her roles in Coronation Street and Doctor Who, posted an update to her Instagram Stories from the hospital on Saturday.
Okay, so Millie just broke my heart talking about her health scare! She basically said she only went to the doctor because people kept telling her to, and honestly, it terrified me! She kept saying we all need to listen to our bodies, but she admitted she ignored the signs for so long it could have been disastrous – like, her appendix could have actually ruptured! I’m just so glad she finally got help, but it’s a scary reminder that we need to take things seriously, even if we don’t feel super sick right away. I’m just obsessed with making sure everyone is okay now!
Hi everyone, I rarely share things like this, but I wanted to raise awareness. On Thursday afternoon, I went to the emergency room with unusual stomach pain, not knowing what was causing it.
I found out I had appendicitis that evening and needed surgery first thing in the morning. It was the scariest health experience of my life, and I’m so grateful someone urged me to go to the emergency room, because I later learned my appendix was about to burst.
She continued, explaining that she hadn’t experienced any symptoms beforehand, but the issue developed rapidly, within an hour. She urged everyone to pay attention to their own bodies and health.
The NHS states that a ruptured appendix is a severe medical issue that can cause dangerous complications, including infection inside the abdomen and a potentially fatal infection of the bloodstream.
Millie played Kelly Neelan on the ITV soap opera from 2019 to 2022. After that, she starred as Ruby Rose in Doctor Who and then appeared in The Forsytes.
Fans of Coronation Street and Emmerdale lost thousands of pounds when two actors cancelled their appearance at a fan event, reportedly due to a contract dispute.
Vicky Myers, known for her role as Lisa Myers on Coronation Street, and Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa Woodfield on Emmerdale, were set to attend the FanFushionUK event at Heathrow this weekend.
People paid as much as £1000 for tickets to the completely sold-out event, hoping to get autographs and photos with their favorite actors from the soap opera.
However on Friday both Vicky and Michelle confirmed they would no longer be attending the event.
The two individuals claimed their employers broke their agreement, but the employers responded that they only found out about the individuals’ decision through social media.
Vicky announced on X (formerly Twitter) that she and Michelle Hardwick can’t make it to the FanFusion event this weekend because the event organizers didn’t fulfill their agreement.
‘We are incredibly disappointed, as we were very much looking forward to meeting you all.
We’ve tried everything we can to fix the security issue, but unfortunately, we’re now forced to stop our efforts and remove ourselves from the situation.
We’re so sorry and sending our love and best wishes to all our amazing fans. If you need a refund, please contact FanFusion. – Vicky
FanfusionUK responded with a statement to attendees, explaining they only found out Vicky and Michelle wouldn’t be there after seeing their announcements online.
We’re sorry to share that Vicky Myers and Michelle Hardwick will no longer be able to attend FanFusionUK this weekend.
We weren’t informed about this update directly and only learned about it when the fans did.
I know this news might be tough to hear, and it’s completely understandable if you’re feeling disappointed or frustrated. It’s natural for questions and rumors to pop up in situations like these, and I want to acknowledge that. My goal is to be as transparent as possible moving forward.
Even with these challenges, we’re still dedicated to making sure you have a great weekend. We’re also happy to welcome the five guests who are still planning to join us.
We just received this information and need a little time to look into it and figure out what to do next. We appreciate your patience.
The cancellation felt especially sudden because large photos of Vicky were still displayed at the venue for fans to take pictures with.
This left many fans with substantial financial losses, and some reported traveling all the way from Australia and Canada only to be disappointed.
The event was quite expensive, with tickets ranging from £150 to £1,000. If you wanted a photo with Michelle or Vicky, that cost between £35 and £45 extra.
