Chappell Roan now banned from Brazilian concert after her security was accused of leaving Jude Law’s tween daughter in tears

Chappell Roan is no longer allowed to perform at Todo Mundo in Rio after accusations surfaced that she sent her security team to intimidate Jude Law’s 11-year-old daughter when the girl simply walked past her.

Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, the 28-year-old singer known as Kehlani, performed at Lollapalooza in Sao Paulo over the weekend. While she was there, actress Law’s daughter, Ada, spotted the singer at a hotel and curiously walked by her table during breakfast to get a better look.

According to the child’s stepdad, soccer player Jorginho Frello, 34, Roan supposedly used security personnel to frighten the child, who is the 53-year-old British actor’s daughter with Catherine Harding.

Rio de Janeiro Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere saw the story and has now prohibited Roan from performing at the Todo Mundo no Rio concert, as he announced on X.

In a recent statement, City Leader Cavaliere declared that singer ChappelRoan will not be performing at the upcoming Todo Mundo no Rio festival as long as he is in office. He also expressed doubt that Shakira would participate. He additionally mentioned that FrelloJorginho’s child has been invited as a special guest for the May event. Todo Mundo no Rio is scheduled for May, and Cavaliere’s term continues until 2028.

The Daily Mail has reached out to a rep for Roan about the mayor’s action.

Roan responded to Frello’s social media post with an apology video he shared on Instagram Stories on Saturday.

She said the security guard who approached Frello’s family was ‘not my personal security.’

The singer explained that she didn’t ask security to approach the mother and child. They hadn’t come to her, and weren’t causing any trouble.

‘It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions.’

Ever since becoming famous in 2024, Roan has been very open about the downsides of celebrity life, consistently refusing to tolerate unwanted attention from the public.

The artist has occasionally clashed with her fans, previously publicly criticizing what she felt was overly obsessive or intrusive behavior online.

In a post on Saturday, she clarified that she doesn’t dislike her fans or children, calling the idea ‘crazy.’ She apologized to a mother and child who were wrongly assumed to be uncomfortable, saying they didn’t deserve to be put in that situation and she was saddened if they felt that way.

In August 2024, Roan shared a TikTok video stating she wasn’t bothered by the fact that abuse, harassment, stalking, or similar behavior is often directed at people with any level of fame.

It’s strange how easily people feel they know someone just from what they see and hear online. And I have the right to refuse interactions with anyone who makes me uncomfortable.

She then shared a detailed message on Instagram, explaining her desire to continue pursuing art for years to come. She also addressed experiencing unwanted physical and social encounters, emphasizing that women are not obligated to anyone’s expectations or demands.

Roan explained that he views performing, whether on stage, in drag, at work events, or during interviews, as part of his job. Outside of those situations, he’s completely off duty and not ‘at work.’

She explained that if people are still questioning why she pursued a career with potentially unwanted attention, they should know this: she fully accepts the positive results of her work, the affection she receives, and her thankfulness. However, she won’t tolerate unwanted advances, physical contact, or being stalked.

The up-and-coming performer has become known for frequently complaining, and some fans have jokingly suggested she change her name to ‘Chappell Moan’.
