This brings its domestic total to a staggering $597 million! And it’s not just the American audience who can’t get enough – globally, the film has surpassed $1.4 billion in ticket sales according to Box Office Mojo. Simply put, “Inside Out 2” continues to be a runaway hit, touching the hearts and minds of audiences around the world.
In simple terms, “Twisters” was handled domestically for distribution by Universal, while Warner Bros. managed the international sales. Based on Comscore’s data, the opening weekend globally brought in an estimated earnings of $27.1 million. The movie graced 23,535 international screens and was released in 76 different markets abroad.
The director, Chung, grew up in rural Arkansas, where tornadoes are a fact of life.
I’ve worked as a film producer for several years, and let me tell you, producing a movie during tornado season in Tornado Alley, Oklahoma was no piece of cake. The challenges we faced were relentless. We filmed through the scorching summer heat, braving frequent thunderstorms and the ever-present threat of tornados. The logistical difficulties were immense; setting up equipment during heavy rain, ensuring the safety of our crew, and constantly adapting to unexpected weather changes.
Chung spoke with The Times, sharing that the production was incredibly demanding. He described it as exhausting and grueling to such an extent that he no longer believes any film can be considered enjoyable merely based on its subject matter.
