Tesla’s Cybertruck coming to Fortnite, giving players a new target
As a long-time gamer with a knack for sarcasm and a soft spot for digital vandalism, I can’t help but feel both elated and disdainful about Tesla’s Cybertruck joining the ranks of Fortnite and Rocket League.
Tesla’s Cybertruck is joining Fortnite, allowing fans of the popular battle royale game to virtually acquire the debated, frequently damaged, and often talked-about low-poly truck. The introduction of the Cybertruck in Fortnite, available at the in-game shop starting July 23 as announced by Epic Games on Monday, also expands the pool of individuals who can tease Cybertruck owners for their purchase, a beloved human activity.
The announcement of the Cybertruck joining Fortnite has prompted some predictable quips about the vehicle. For instance, one common comment reads, “First cosmetic vehicle to explode within three minutes of the game,” while another jokingly labels it, “First-ever drivable trash bin.”
In Fortnite, the Cybertruck’s portrayal may vary significantly from its real-life counterpart. While it can handle rough terrain with ease, its resistance to bullets is expected to be less noteworthy compared to the actual Cybertruck. The introduction of the Cybertruck in Fortnite this week might spark anger among players, as reactions from the online community suggest. Even some developers at Fortnite have expressed a desire to destroy it.
Reminder that opinions are mine and mine alone.
Destroy on sight

As a long-time fan of both Cybertruck and Rocket League, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Epic Games and Psyonix made the announcement that Tesla’s iconic truck would be joining the roster of playable vehicles in the beloved video game. Having spent countless hours customizing and perfecting my driving skills on Rocket League’s vibrant arenas, I can only imagine the endless possibilities this collaboration will bring. With a soft spot for retro aesthetics and simplistic designs, the prospect of having an even more polygon-minimized version of the Cybertruck in my garage is truly thrilling. Tuesday can’t come soon enough!
Drive the future.
