Bradley Riches shared kind words about his Celebrity Big Brother housemate Sharon Osbourne, commending her resilience after the passing of her husband, Ozzy, and discussing their growing bond.
The 24-year-old Emmerdale actor and the 73-year-old TV personality became friends while they were both on a reality show in 2024.
After the show finished, the two stayed close friends and recently met up for brunch with Sharon’s daughter, Kelly, in December.
The event took place five months after the passing of Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne, and Bradley commented that he was deeply impressed by both Ozzy and his wife, and how they’ve continued to support each other through a difficult time.
Bradley told The Daily Mail: ‘They’re such amazing people – what they’ve been through.
I really admire Sharon and Kelly. They’re both incredibly strong women, and it’s inspiring to see. I care about them a lot and enjoy spending time with them.
Bradley explained that the band members had been planning to get together for some time, but Ozzy Osbourne’s health issues made it a difficult period and ultimately led to the reunion.
We finally arranged a date around Christmas. I was expecting something casual, like McDonald’s, but they suggested meeting at the Claridge’s hotel. That’s when I realized they were quite fancy!
‘But it was really nice, and then Sharon got the bill as well, which made it 10 times better!’
Bradley is excited to see Sharon again at his wedding, which will be a glamorous event attended by many stars. He’s marrying his partner, Scott Johnston.
The pair got engaged in 2024 and will walk down the aisle later this month.
Bradley shared that some of his new friends from the TV show Emmerdale will be attending, and hinted at other celebrity guests.
A few people from Heartstopper will be there, and I believe everyone from the Big Brother cast is coming too.
I’ve met so many interesting people, including David Potts, Colston Smith, Nikita Kuzmin, Sharon, Levi Roots, ZeZe Millz, Marisha Wallace, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, and others like Arlene Phillips and Tasha Ghouri from Love Island.
It’s great to have so many people there – people I’ve worked with over the years and shared important career milestones with. I’m really looking forward to it.
Okay, so he was telling me about the wedding guest list, and it was SO cute! He said they were making the list, you know, family and friends, and then he just stopped and was like, “Wait a minute… I actually know a TON of famous people! I hadn’t even thought about it!” It was the most adorable, humblebrag moment ever, honestly. I’m so jealous of all his famous friends, and that I wasn’t on the list, obviously!
‘I was like, “Maybe I am embedded in the industry slowly”,’ he joked.
I’m so excited to share that, alongside helping couples plan their big days, I’ve been pouring my heart into a passion project! My book, ‘Autistically Me: How to Understand and Celebrate Our Unique Minds,’ officially launches on June 9th. It’s a deeply personal exploration, and I hope it offers valuable insights and celebrates neurodiversity.
The actor, known for portraying Emmerdale’s first neurodivergent character, is sharing his own uplifting journey and offering helpful advice for living well with the condition.
He was diagnosed with autism at nine and was non-verbal until he was 10.
The actor shared that the role felt very personal, reflecting their own life experiences. They’ve always kept those experiences and coping strategies private, and haven’t offered them as advice to others.
They can also offer support, but ultimately it’s about accepting yourself and understanding how your brain works.
This book delves into the process of receiving an autism diagnosis, explains its importance, and highlights how autism can manifest uniquely in different genders.
Bradley admitted he felt quite nervous taking on the role of the first autistic character on Emmerdale.
‘When you’re advocating and your representing the community you do put extra pressure on yourself.
I was also thrilled and reassured that the role was written for an autistic character. Having personal experience with autism allows an actor to genuinely connect with and portray those experiences.
‘I was nervous and excited but honoured to do that.’
The book ‘Autistically Me: How to Understand and Celebrate Our Unique Minds’ will be available to buy starting June 9th.
