As someone who has followed the Duggar family’s story closely, I find it both heartbreaking and infuriating to reflect on their experiences with child molestation and the aftermath. I cannot imagine the emotional turmoil that the victims, Josh included, went through during those traumatic events.

According to reports, disgraced former reality star Josh Duggar is said to be signing autographs for other inmates at the federal prison where he’s serving a 12-year term for child pornography offenses. These autographs are then given to their families as keepsakes.

Discovering that Josh, now 36, was arrested for downloading indecent images of young girls aged between seven and nine in 2021 left me utterly devastated. I’ve been a devoted fan of his family’s TLC reality shows, admiring their wholesome on-screen image that they meticulously crafted over the years. This revelation has shattered my cherished perception of them.

The family’s huge fan base were left stunned and dismayed by the shocking fall from grace – yet, as reported by The Sun, the ex-TV star continues to bask in his fame despite being in prison.

Earlier this week, the publication revealed that the convict, who is presently imprisoned at FCI Seagoville in Dallas, Texas, was popularly known as a “star” or “famous figure” among the inmates at the correctional facility.

A source revealed to the publication that Josh has been signing autographs on news articles about himself, which are then given to families of imprisoned individuals.

In April 2021, Josh faced two accusations for downloading and holding child pornographic material, resulting in his arrest and subsequent charging.

At the court hearing, it emerged that a man who is a father of six downloaded illegal content involving the sexual exploitation of children back in May 2019.

A detective investigating the case reported finding two files on the computer: a zip archive with approximately 65 images of young girls, around seven to nine years old, in various states of undress; and a two-minute long video depicting a similar-aged girl being sexually assaulted by an adult.

He was ultimately found guilty and sentenced to 12-and-a-half years in prison.

Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to overturn the guilty verdict that he had attempted to challenge.

Prior to his child pornography arrest, it was reported that Josh had allegedly molested several minor children, among them being four of his own younger sisters.

Based on a 2006 police report that InTouch Weekly uncovered in 2015, it was revealed that Jim Bob Duggar discovered disturbing behavior from Josh Duggar as early as March 2002. His youngest sister went to Jim Bob in an emotional state.

On four separate nights, as Josh entered the shared bedroom for girls without being identified, he inappropriately touched his unnamed sister’s breasts and genitals while she was asleep.

When faced with questioning from Jim Bob, the report disclosed that Josh acknowledged the occurrence of the incident, but it remained unclear what form of correction or consequence followed.

Based on the findings in the report, Josh faced allegations from multiple younger sisters for inappropriate touching, a year after the initial incident.

Once, while reading to his young sister, he inappropriately touched her in the breast and genital areas instead.

On another, he cornered one of his sisters in the laundry room and put his hand under her dress.

As an obsessed fan, I can’t help but share my perspective on this situation. Three long years ago, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar held a devastating secret close to their hearts. They had chosen not to involve the authorities when Josh confessed to them about his inappropriate behavior towards some of his sisters. But as time passed, the weight of that secret grew heavier with each passing day.

At last, on December 12, 2006, Jim Bob confided in law enforcement that upon discovering his son’s actions, he had shared the information with the church elders.

Jim Bob expressed apprehension about enrolling Josh in the proposed treatment plan at Vista Hospital, fearing potential exposure to criminal peers and unwanted influences.

An alternative was to enroll him in a Christian retreat from March 17, 2003, to July 17, 2003, which combined intensive labor tasks and therapeutic counseling.

Jim Bob and Michelle shared with the authorities that Josh allegedly apologized to his victims and mentioned being forgiven by them. Upon his return, they held the belief that the matter had been settled.

After Josh returned home from the Christian counseling session, his parents arranged for him to have a serious conversation with Arkansas State Trooper Jim Hutchens.

Jim was subsequently jailed in 2007 for producing child pornography, which resulted in a sentence of 56 years’ imprisonment.

In 2015, when news broke about my brother Josh’s misdeeds, I, Jill or Jessa, felt compelled to step forward and acknowledge that we were among his victims.

In the year 2017, in addition to the previously named victims, Jinger and Joy were also recognized as plaintiffs in the lawsuit.

During a 2015 interview with Megyn Kelly, Jim Bob, Michelle, Jill, and Jessa gathered to share their perspectives. Some viewers expressed concern after observing how the parents seemed to downplay their son’s actions.

Jim Bob remarked, “He wasn’t yet an adult, just a youngster.” Kids have the tendency to act on their own decisions.

“Josh would enter the room and lightly touch the individuals while they slept, clothed. Occasionally, his touches were beneath their clothing, yet these instances lasted only a few seconds.”

I believe that God has the power to forgive Josh for his grievous actions. May others come to understand that just as God forgives Josh, He can also grant them the chance for a fresh start.

In addition, he gave the impression that incestuous behaviors towards sisters were prevalent, sharing: “We conversed with various parents, and many of them have mentioned since then that such occurrences are not uncommon within their own families.”

‘I think we had one ray of hope, in that Josh had a tender conscience,’ Michelle chimed in.

They similarly emphasized that they had taken measures in their household to prevent a recurrence of such an incident. Specifically, boys were forbidden from being left unsupervised with girls, and the younger children were advised against sitting on the laps of older boys except when it was their father.

In 2008, the Duggar family debuted their reality show, originally titled “17 Kids and Counting.” This program soon attracted widespread attention and grew extremely successful, leading to two name changes over the years as three more children joined the family.

The unusual rules imposed by the parents on their large family of 19 children may have captured the world’s attention.

Jim Bob and Michelle belong to a Christian organization led by Minister Bill Gothard, who advocated unconventional rules. These guidelines included keeping their children at home for education, adhering to modest clothing standards, and maintaining strict gender segregation until marriage.

I, as a devoted follower of Jim Bob and Michelle, was under their careful supervision in every facet of my life as a child. They monitored my text messages, selected the TV shows I could watch, and dictated the music I could listen to. Moreover, they played a significant role in determining who I befriended.

For ten seasons straight, the show continued, coming to an end in 2015. Surprisingly, a new series called Counting On debuted later that year and ran for eleven more seasons until its cancellation in the wake of Josh’s arrest.
