Little Mix is hit with shocking claim that Jesy Nelson's backing vocals on the band's final track as a foursome were recorded by an 'impersonator'

As a die-hard Little Mix fan, I can hardly contain my shock and disbelief as I read the recent claim that Jesy Nelson’s backing vocals on their final song as a group, “No Time For Tears,” were actually sung by an impersonator. The girl group, made up of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Ann Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Jesy Nelson, was formed on The X Factor in 2011, and their music has brought joy to millions of fans around the world. But now, this bombshell allegation casts a dark shadow over the group’s legacy.

An surprising allegation has emerged, suggesting that the backing vocals for Little Mix’s last song together as a band, which are credited to Jesy Nelson, may have in fact been sung by an imitator.

A girl quartet, consisting of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall, and Jesy Nelson, came together on The X Factor in the year 2011. However, Jesy chose to leave the group in the year 2020 due to mental health challenges she was facing.

In November 2020, one month before Jesy left the group, Little Mix put out their last song together as a quartet, titled “No Time For Tears,” which they created in partnership with Nathan Dawe.

However, Tre Jean-Marie, the producer along with Nathan, has made a shocking allegation that Jesy did not record her backing vocals for the track.

As a seasoned music enthusiast and avid social media user, I’ve come across various intriguing behind-the-scenes stories. One such tale that recently caught my attention was shared by Tre on his Instagram Story. He revealed that all of Jesy’s backing vocals (BVs) and even one of the leads in No Time for Tears were actually sung by someone else impersonating her.

When I learned that my song had reached Gold status in the UK charts, with over 400,000 copies sold, I was thrilled to make that announcement in response.

TopMob has contacted Jesy’s representatives for comment.

Amidst the buzz, Jade Thirwall, a former band member of Little Mix, launched her solo career with her debut single titled Angel Of My Dreams, which was dropped on Friday.

The singer, aged 31, has been hinting at her upcoming music for several weeks now. Her fans, thrilled by the preview, expressed their delight, saying it surpassed their expectations.

In the music video, Jade didn’t shy away from expressing a fresh musical side of herself, distinct from the band’s sound.

The video opens with glimpses of Jade’s past in music: scenes from when she was a young performer, followed by her initial solo appearance on The X Factor. This segment represents Jade’s complex emotions towards the music industry – both her deep affection and frustration expressed as a ‘letter’.

During the entire video, the singer assumes various personas and alters her appearance. She starts off wearing a furry blue coat and sporting tall platinum blonde hair.

Towards the end of the video, she performs a dance routine in the streets wearing a white angel costume. Subsequently, she is taken over by another character portrayed by her, but this time with red hair.

In Los Angeles, the recording of the track was accomplished by Jade in collaboration with Steph Jones (the creator of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso”), Pablo Bowman (known for Calvin Harris’ “Miracle”), and producer Mike Sabbath (recognized for his work with RAYE).

On Twitter, Jade announced the release of “Angel Of My Dreams”: “This song is now available to the public! I’m a mix of emotions – tears, laughter, and maybe even a little shock.”

I’ve spent my whole life entwined with music – it’s been both my greatest love and my bitterest foe. Writing this song feels like penning a letter to the music industry, an industry that has shaped my existence from its very beginnings.

She quipped, “This is the ideal start and preview into my solo artist journey. So hang on tight and get ready for an exciting ride!” (Note: The use of explicit language has been replaced with a more appropriate and respectful alternative.)

I’m deeply appreciative of the collaboration with Mike SabathMusic, Pablo Bowman, and Steph Jones. It’s been an amazing experience to bring this magic to life together, what an exceptional team!

Based on my personal experiences, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and let our imaginations run free. It’s not every day that we get to discard conventional ways of thinking and explore new territories. The sense of creativity and innovation that arises from such an environment is invigorating and inspiring. I take great pride in being part of a team that isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo and push boundaries. It’s moments like these that make life exciting and worth living.

Reflecting on my journey, I cannot express enough gratitude towards my team who have been with me since the inception of my solo project. Their unwavering belief in my abilities and their readiness to back me up, no matter how unconventional my choices were, provided me with the creative freedom I needed to transform into JADE. Their support was instrumental in helping me navigate through the challenges of bringing my vision to life. It’s been a truly enriching experience working with them, and I am grateful for their faith in me.
