Fans of Gravity Falls who are craving something similar have a promising new show to look forward to in 2026. Gravity Falls remains incredibly popular and critically acclaimed, maintaining a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes and receiving consistently positive reviews even long after it ended.
The show Gravity Falls skillfully blended spooky, horror-like elements with a captivating supernatural mystery, making it hard to find anything quite like it recently. Luckily for fans, one of the creators behind Gravity Falls is now working on a new series that seems like it could capture a similar magic.

Clara & The Below is a new animated series created by Matt Braly, known for his work on Gravity Falls. He was a storyboard artist and animator for Gravity Falls, and even directed many episodes, including the second-to-last episode of season two, Weirdmaggedon 2: Escape From Reality.
As a huge fan of shows like Gravity Falls, I’m really excited about Clara & The Below. It sounds like it’s going to be another story with a lot of supernatural stuff and a central mystery – exactly what I loved about Gravity Falls. And the response has been incredible! They funded the first episode on Kickstarter in just 15 minutes, and they’ve now raised over $231,000 – way more than their original $25,000 goal. It definitely seems like a show worth checking out if you enjoyed Gravity Falls.
We successfully reached our funding goal, which allows us to produce the second episode and add other exciting features. This puts the series in a great spot as we plan for its four episodes. The first episode will be released for free on YouTube on December 25, 2026, meaning you’ll be able to start watching the story before the end of the year.
Clara & The Below Is Set To Continue Much Of What Made Gravity Falls Work So Well
Like the show Gravity Falls, which slowly unveiled the mysteries hidden beneath a seemingly normal town, Clara & The Below explores a world of secrets. The story follows Clara as she investigates the strange realm beneath her family’s manor – a place called the Below – that’s inhabited by ghosts and other unusual beings.
Clara’s quest to find a cure for her sick father shares similarities with the show Gravity Falls. Like that series, where twins uncover their great uncle’s hidden past, Clara’s story seems to focus on her discovering a dark history about her father and how it will impact both their lives. The narrative repeatedly hints at this unfolding revelation as a central part of the plot.
The central mysteries of the new series, Clara & The Below, focus on Clara’s father – his past, the reason for his sickness, and how it all connects to the mysterious Below. Like Gravity Falls and the question of who authored the journals about the creatures Mabel and Dipper faced, this series seems built around unraveling intriguing secrets.
Considering many people still consider Gravity Falls one of the greatest animated shows ever made, the fact that Clara & The Below shares some similarities is a good sign. Hopefully, the four-part Clara & The Below will build on those similarities and attract fans who loved Gravity Falls and its adventurous spirit.
