The team’s path to the LEC Summer 2024 Playoffs Final

G2 Esports got off to a sluggish beginning in the LEC Summer 2024 Regular Season. They dropped several games, supposedly as a result of the aftermath from their poor showing against T1 at the MSI 2024 tournament.

In the latter part of the Regular Season, I watched as G2 regained their footing and racked up some wins. They eventually qualified for the Playoffs. The team’s first win in the Playoffs was a close call against Karmine Corp. However, during the upper-bracket semifinal, G2 Esports displayed an unwavering focus on results, making their triumph over Team BDS appear effortless.

At the beginning of the League of Legends (LoL) Esports LEC Summer 2024 Regular Season, Fnatic made an impressive debut. Their performance suggested a rejuvenated team. However, their strong start began to falter towards the end of that stage, resulting in a fourth-place finish for Fnatic, just behind G2.

In round 1 of the Playoffs, Fnatic encountered some difficulties, particularly in game 1 against GIANTX. However, they managed to secure a victory in that match and the next one versus SK Gaming. The team displayed impressive performance in the semi-final, making their experience at the Esports World Cup 2024 a far cry from being bitter.

From my perspective as a fan, when it comes to their direct competition, G2 has the upper hand. They clinched victory over Fnatic during the LEC Spring 2024 grand final. Furthermore, they outperformed Fnatic in one of their matches in the LEC Summer 2024 Regular Season.

Following the completion of the upper-bracket finals, the Playoff phase of the LEC Summer 2024 tournament carries on with some lower-bracket games. The ultimate champion will be crowned in the grand final on July 28, 2024.
