MenaRD joins Red Bull Gaming during Evo Las Vegas 2024!

As a long-time follower of the fighting game community (FGC), I’m beyond excited to witness MenaRD, also known as “The Bull,” join the esteemed Red Bull Gaming team! Having grown up in the Dominican Republic, MenaRD’s journey into professional gaming feels like a true underdog story.

The player is also duking it out in Street Fighter 6 for the top spot at Evo 2024.

At Evo Las Vegas 2024 on July 19, it was revealed that professional Street Fighter 6 player Saul “MenaRD” Mena has been signed to Red Bull’s gaming roster.

MenaRD enters Red Bull Gaming

At Evo Las Vegas 2024, Red Bull Gaming announced the addition of MenaRD to its team. This Street Fighter 6 competitor now joins an impressive lineup of players including Shin “Leshar” Moon-sup, Adel “Big Bird” Anouche, Tsunehiro “gachikun” Kanamori, Daigo Umehara, Lin “Oil King” Li-wei, and others.

During an interview with esports.gg, MenaRD expressed the significance of this new signing for him as a Dominican player. He described it as the realization of a long-held dream, something he had previously only fantasized about while gaming on his modest computer at home.

It was unfathomable to him that he’d ever have a chance to go head-to-head with top-tier competitors, not just in the U.S. or Japan, but globally. The sensation of measuring up against the elite and rubbing shoulders with them is an almost unreal experience for him.

He shared, “When I was around eight or nine years old, I would often lose myself in daydreams throughout the day. Now, with this unfolding before my eyes, I can’t help but feel like I’m still dreaming and will soon enough be waking up to go back to school. It’s hard to believe that this is real life.”

In the world of fighting game enthusiasts (FGC), MenaRD holds the nickname “The Bull.” This moniker adds to his recent signing with Red Bull Gaming, creating an ideal fit. Notably, this skilled player has clinched the Capcom Cup title a total of two times. Lately, he has added three more trophies to his collection from Get On My Level X, Evo Japan 2024, and Red Bull Kumite 2024 New York tournaments. Here’s a glance at just some of MenaRD’s numerous triumphs:

I’m getting ready for the Esports World Cup 2024, which kicks off next month, but first, there’s Evo Las Vegas 2024 taking place right now from July 19 to July 21. As a competitor on the ground, I’m squaring off against other elite Street Fighter 6 players. Can MenaRD replicate his victory in Japan? With Red Bull Gaming behind me, my career as a top Street Fighter 6 player is poised for even greater heights.
