Formula 1: 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying updates, full starting lineup

As a die-hard Formula 1 fan with years of experience following the sport, I can’t contain my excitement for this upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix! After three intense weekends in a row, it’s refreshing to know that the 2024 season is set to continue at the Hungaroring.

Following three straight Formula 1 race weekends, the 2024 Formula 1 season will resume this coming Sunday with the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring track.

The upcoming race marks the penultimate event in the extraordinary 24-race series, preceding the customary four-week summer hiatus. The last race before this extended break is slated for the following weekend at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

At the Hungaroring race track in Hungary, which has 14 turns and spans 2.722 miles or 4.381 kilometers, Max Verstappen of Red Bull has emerged victorious in the past two 70-lap races held on Sundays.

Although that specific track is known for being challenging for passing, Max Verstappen failed to win either race when starting in pole position.

As a gamer, I can tell you that no driver has managed to clinch victory at the Hungarian Grand Prix from the pole position since Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes did it back in 2020. Quite surprisingly, Max Verstappen snatched the win during the 2022 race, starting from the 10th spot on the grid – the lowest starting position for a Hungarian GP winner since Jenson Button’s triumph way back in 2006.

His victories in the previous race, starting from 15th position, and the following one at Spa, also from a low starting place, were only the second time such feat had been achieved by a driver.
