Clash Royale ‘Dagger Dutchess’ Tower Troop: All you need to know
As a dedicated Clash Royale player with years of experience under my belt, I am thrilled to share my thoughts on the latest addition to the game – the legendary Tower Troop, Dagger Dutchess. Having eagerly awaited the arrival of Tower Troops since their initial announcement, it was a pleasant surprise to see the first-ever Legendary one join us in the April 2024 update.
In simpler terms,
The Crown Towers, or previously known as Tower Princesses, were introduced with the December 2023 update of Clash Royale. Initially, there was speculation that this new card type would join the game only after 2024. To clarify, we received our first Crown Tower by renaming and reclassifying the existing Tower Princess as a separate entity.
Dagger Dutchess Tower Troop in Clash Royale
Overview
As a devoted Clash Royale player, I’m thrilled to share that in the exciting April 2024 update for Season 58, a new legendary card graced the scene – The Dagger Duchess. This remarkable unit can be unlocked in Electro Valley, Arena 11. Her arrival in the game signifies a historic milestone as she becomes the inaugural Legendary Tower Troop.
Gameplay
this troop, referred to as a “single-target tower,” initially specializes in targeting ground enemies. Yet, it has adopted an alternate function – engaging aerial units from afar. Endowed with substantial hit points, its damage capacity is comparatively meager. The assault commences with a rapid succession of dagger throws causing significant harm. However, as her stock depletes and she needs to reload, the rate of attack noticeably decreases.

The Dagger Duchess proudly displays stats with a quick hit rate of 0.35 seconds and the ability to shoot again in just 7.5 seconds. This formidable tower troop can take down both air and ground enemies within its reach. With a legendary rarity, it’s an essential addition to any battlefield arsenal. Armed with a stockpile of 8 daggers, she hurls them at opponents. Once all daggers are expended, each one takes approximately 1.2 seconds to be reloaded and ready for action once more.
Strategies
To maximize the effectiveness of the Dagger Duchess in Clash Royale, consider focusing on eliminating weaker troops such as Skeletons, Spear Goblins, or even Evolved Bats due to her rapid initial attack pace, making her a significant hazard for these units. She excels at managing small enemy advances and usually poses no challenge unless confronted by numerous assaults, which I will discuss in detail subsequently.
When it comes to playing Dagger Duchess in my favorite beatdown decks, I’ve observed some distinct advantages. This card shines particularly brightly due to her unique ability to safeguard herself from opponents’ pushes at the very least Elixir cost. Beatdown strategies can sometimes falter against swift and economical counterattacks like Miner and Hog Rider. However, with Dagger Duchess on your side, you gain the confidence to press forward with powerful pushes featuring cards such as Lava Hound, secure in the knowledge that she’s effectively neutralizing those threats.

Her being there strengthens our defense against moderate shoves, yet has vulnerabilities to be taken advantage of. To thwart the Dagger Duchess in Clash Royale, consider deploying heavy-hitters like Giant or P.E.K.K.A instead. These units can withstand her assaults with minimal damage in return. Additionally, in any scenario, make use of substantial hordes such as Skeleton Army, focusing on her diminished attack power once her initial daggers run out.
As a seasoned Clash Royale player, I cannot stress enough the importance of having cards like Ice Golem and Goblin Giant in your deck. These troops are invaluable when it comes to diverting enemy units towards your towers, giving your precious firing range a much-needed boost.
If you’re utilizing her in battle, make sure to conserve her ammo wisely. When her daggers run out, she becomes defenseless and unable to attack, necessitating a refill before she can continue being an effective weapon in most decks.
