Cobra Kai’s Ralph Macchio weighs in on possible Hilary Swank cameo
As a huge fan of the Karate Kid franchise, I can’t contain my excitement over Ralph Macchio‘s recent comments about the possibility of Hilary Swank making a cameo appearance in Cobra Kai season six. I still remember watching The Next Karate Kid as a kid and being captivated by Swank’s portrayal of Julie Pierce, Mr. Miyagi’s protégée.
Ralph Macchio, an actor from “Cobra Kai,” has shared his thoughts about the potential for Hilary Swank to make a guest appearance in season six.
On Thursdays, July 18, the last installment of “The Karate Kid” spin-off featuring Macchio’s return as Daniel LaRusso became available on Netflix once more.
At the Los Angeles premiere of the show a few days ago, I had the pleasure of chatting with the actor for Entertainment Tonight. He hinted at the possible comebacks of some well-known characters in the upcoming season, but no official announcements have been made yet.
“I can’t mention names but there might be one or two,” he said.
Some people who have made a modest appearance I’d prefer to see more actively involved.
Several people have voiced their excitement about the possibility of Swank reappearing in the series, having portrayed Julie Pierce, Mr. Miyagi’s apprentice, in the 1984 movie “The Next Karate Kid.”
Macchio mysteriously responded to the fans’ anticipation by saying: “Don’t we all, though? The intriguing part lies in that very thing.”
After previously discussing the possibility of Swank rejoining the cast for the last episode, the show’s creators, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, have announced new developments on the topic.
“Hurwitz expressed to Deadline that our team is fond of Hilary Swank. Regarding possible additions to the final season from the ‘Miyagi-verse’, Schlossberg mentioned that anyone could be considered.”
In the last installment of “Cobra Kai,” Daniel and his karate mentor Johnny prepare their pupils for the World Tournament. At the same time, the show explores deeper into the hidden history of Mr. Miyagi.
In a private conversation with Digital Spy, Macchio expressed his satisfaction with the way the plot unfolds, stating, “I believe we effectively develop the storyline throughout ten episodes, and even beyond that.”
Daniel uncovered the truth about Miyagi’s past, shedding light on hidden aspects of his life.
In the sixth season, it was essential to introduce something new and innovative, and I can’t wait for fans to witness these changes unfold.
After the initial episodes became available on the streaming platform, the series received a noteworthy rating of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on the opinions of 17 critics.
Numerous reviewers have commended the program for retaining its captivating “allure” and “amusement,” making you crave additional episodes just in time for the November 28 release of the second installment.
