As a dedicated fan of the X-Men universe, I was absolutely thrilled to see Dafne Keen reprising her role as X-23 in the latest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer. Her involvement had been kept under wraps until the very last minute, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I saw her on screen once again opposite Hugh Jackman’s iconic portrayal of Wolverine.
As a longtime fan of Marvel Comics and particularly fond of Deadpool and Wolverine, I couldn’t contain my excitement as I sat down to watch the final trailer for their upcoming MCU film. The anticipation had been building for weeks, with each new teaser only fueling my eagerness to see these iconic characters come to life on the big screen.
Along with the anticipation building over who plays Lady Deadpool under rumors of Blake Lively’s casting, it came to light that Dafne Keen would once again take on the role of X-23 in the upcoming production, joining Hugh Jackman.
In my expertise as a lifestyle advisor, I’d rephrase that sentence like this: Before, when I was 19 years old, I had the privilege of portraying the young mutant character in the 2017 superhero movie, Logan. This film marked the conclusion of the Wolverine trilogy.
The teenage girl has hidden her participation in the project from everyone and has also dismissed rumors that she will appear in Deadpool and Wolverine.
I understand it’s unfortunate, but my feelings are complex. I hold a deep affection for Hugh, Ryan (Reynolds), and Shawn (Levy). Creatively speaking, I’m drawn to all three of them. My anticipation is high, as I eagerly await the fruit of their collaboration. In my opinion, Shawn is currently among the best directors in the industry.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve had the pleasure of admiring Ryan Reynolds’ exceptional portrayal of Deadpool since its inception in 2016. If I were given the opportunity, I would have felt incredibly fortunate to be a part of that groundbreaking project and work alongside such an iconic figure in film history.
‘I’ll just go watch it as a fan, to see my old buddy in it,’ she said, referring to Jackman.
When I received the news from my agent that I would be reprising my role as X-23 in the next movie, I couldn’t contain my excitement – or rather, my initial reaction was quite the opposite. I let out a surprised and delighted scream on the spot!
She shared with Entertainment Weekly that she accidentally dropped her phone into the bath. The incident required putting it in rice for repair, which was quite a hassle and left her feeling uneasy. She expressed concern, “I might have forgotten how to portray her; she’s no longer a part of me.”
To her surprise, once cameras started rolling, she felt like they ‘were back doing Logan.’
‘It was like eight years hadn’t passed,’ the actress raved.
In the trailer, released on Friday, she can seen briefly speaking to Jackman.
‘Whoever you think I am, you’ve got the wrong guy,’ he tells her.
‘You were always the wrong guy, till you weren’t,’ she reminds him.
From my perspective as a lifestyle expert, the identity of Lady Deadpool remains a mystery at the moment. Some enthusiastic fans, however, strongly believe that behind the mask lies Reynolds’ devoted wife, who is only 36 years old.
A few critics noted a discrepancy in hair color between the woman and Blake Lively; her platinum blond hair contrasted with Lively’s golden tresses.
Another theory is that the couple’s pal, Taylor Swift, may be Lady Deadpool.
Among the two ladies, there’s a higher chance that Lively assumed the part since Entertainment Weekly reported earlier this month that the pop star, aged 34, wouldn’t be featured in the film.
The upcoming movie featuring Deadpool and Wolverine, with stars including Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Karan Soni, Leslie Uggams, Matthew Macfadyen, and Jennifer Garner, is planned for a nationwide release on July 26.
