I have read about Violet, a courageous teenager who stood up for what she believed in despite the potential backlash. Her plea for mask mandates resonated with many, and she was hailed as a hero by some. However, her efforts seemed to fall on deaf ears, leaving her feeling disheartened and alone.
Ben Affleck has advised his 18-year-old daughter that she should keep a realistic perspective when it comes to campaigning and not count on his fame to carry her cause. After giving a speech on mask mandates, she felt very disappointed by the lack of positive feedback.
Last week, Violet Affleck passionately urged the Los Angeles County governing body to lift all mask bans in hospitals and government structures. She shared her personal story of developing a post-viral condition in 2019 as evidence for the importance of this measure.
It wasn’t surprising that her sudden, brief speech of approximately 60 seconds sparked controversy. Some praised her as “brave,” while others labeled her as “misguided.”
Violet, Ben’s oldest daughter with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, aged 51 and 52 respectively, is reportedly facing criticism and feeling isolated as she advocates for reinforced safety measures during the pandemic.
An insider shared with DailyMail.com that Ben and Jen will continuously back their daughter, but during a recent talk, Ben expressed his concern and advised her to consider the practicality of her actions. He believes she might be investing excessive time and energy into something that may not yield significant results in the future.

“Although he understands how passionately she feels on this matter, as Violet has grown into an adult, he believed it was important for her to realize that she’s up against significant opposition – most people don’t share her perspective on this issue.”
Based on my experience as a mentor and observer of young talents, I have come to understand that no amount of fame or influence from parents can guarantee success for their children. While Violet may have felt reassured by her parents’ star power, I’ve seen countless instances where this belief proved to be an illusion. The realms of art, business, and academia are meritocracies, and only dedication, hard work, and talent will lead one to the desired outcome. So, while Violet’s father’s fame may open doors for her, it is ultimately up to her to walk through them with determination and skill.
In her speech, Violet encouraged the board to take action against the prolonged COVID crisis. She proposed reinforcing safeguards, providing top-notch testing, and preventing any mask bans.
As a lifestyle expert, I strongly advocate for prioritizing health and safety in all public facilities, including governments buildings such as jails and detention centers. It is essential that masks are readily available, air filtration systems are installed, and Far-UVC light technology is employed to ensure cleaner air and reduced transmission of viruses. In addition, I firmly believe that mask mandates should be enforced in county medical facilities for the protection of both staff and patients.
It’s essential that the county increases access to free, top-notch testing and therapy options. Additionally, it’s crucial that the county takes a stance against enacting mask bans under any circumstances.
Based on my personal experience and observation, I believe that some individuals or institutions in our community in Los Angeles fail to ensure our safety. Instead, they put vulnerable members at greater risk and hinder everyone’s ability to fully engage and contribute to our vibrant city. This is a concerning issue for me as I have seen firsthand how fear of crime or lack of access to essential resources can limit opportunities and create division within our community. We deserve better, and it’s crucial that we hold those responsible accountable for creating an environment where everyone feels safe and empowered to participate fully in the rich cultural tapestry that is Los Angeles.
Comments criticizing her speech advocacy poured in on the video clips, with one individual expressing, “This young woman seems misinformed about what she’s discussing. It’s unfortunate.”
Another commented: ‘This is what mania looks like.’

Others praised her as a savior, and the teenager was soon recognized as an advocate for those dealing with Long Covid or having compromised immune systems.
‘Violet is a hero,’ declared one person on Reddit. ‘You go girl!’
“Another person expressed: ‘You possess the innate qualities of an exceptional leader, and you serve as a significant source of motivation for those prioritizing Covid safety. Continue shining brightly and advocating for our collective rights.'”
Violet, having just finished high school, is no longer eager to press harder on certain matters.
I can’t help but feel utterly dismayed and humiliated, as if my heartfelt appeal for mandatory masks was met with indifference at best. It seems that my efforts to bring attention to this important issue have only served to fuel more mockery and derision towards me. Sadly, I’m starting to doubt if anyone is even listening, let alone taking action on my plea.
I put down the critique, feeling a strange mix of pride for standing up for myself and yet, deep within me, I couldn’t help but wonder, what’s the use? Why should I keep testing the limits when this seems sufficient?
‘It is clear to her and to those around her that she is pretty much alone on this one.’
An alternate statement could be: A second person shared: “Her parents will remain behind her, helping in any capacity they can. She is deeply convinced by her beliefs, and it’s unfortunate if others aren’t convinced as well.”
“She’s making an effort to keep connected with things that matter to her, rather than completely giving up on them.”
Before giving her speech, Ben and Jennifer set firm rules, requiring her to extensively study the topic and wait until she turned 18, according to sources speaking with DailyMail.com.

Online, there was much discussion about Violet’s consistent use of masks, an issue her family hadn’t openly addressed before.
At Michael Rubin’s White Party in 2023 and later at a Broadway show with Ben and her stepmom Jennifer Lopez, she was conspicuously spotted wearing a mask.
In May 2024, she was seen giving a subtle acknowledgment of her health situation by donning a mask and carrying Steven Thrasher’s acclaimed 2022 book, “The Viral Underclass,” as she spent time with her mother.
A few short days after making an heartfelt appeal, she was observed not wearing a mask while spending time with Lopez in the Hamptons.
At the East Hampton Antiques & Design Show, the teenager took off her mask and walked around with her friend, not wearing it again as they joined the crowd under a covered tent.
Violet’s siblings Fin, previously known as Seraphina, who is 15 years old, and Samuel, aged 12, haven’t been seen with masks on in any photos.
In 2015, after almost a decade of being married, Jen and I made the difficult decision to go our separate ways. We kept things amicable and waited until 2017 to formally file for divorce.
Since then, Jennifer has been in a relationship with businessman John Miller. On the other hand, Ben restarted his romance with J.Lo in April 2021 and got married to her in July 2022.
For the past two months, there have been disagreements leading to separations in their marriage, causing them to live apart.
