As an avid fan of This Morning, I couldn’t help but be excited when Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary took over the reins for the summer break. Having watched Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley gracefully navigate the morning show for the past few months, it was a breath of fresh air to see two familiar faces step in.

Alison Hammond defied fashion criticism by wearing skinny jeans on This Morning on Thursday, despite Lisa Snowdon expressing her disapproval.

The ITV host, aged 49, once again dazzled in a set of fitted blue denim jeans and a vibrant leopard print blouse for her presentation this week.

In her golden sandals, Alison looked content and cheerful while teaming up with Dermot O’Leary to host the program.

A few days ago, This Morning viewers were embarrassed when Lisa criticized an article of clothing that Alison was wearing during the show.

During the summer fashion feature titled “The Ultimate Summer Trouser,” Lisa, age 52, cautioned viewers about the potential risks of wearing skinny jeans.

“Avoid skinny jeans, they suit Elizabeth Hurley well but not many others, according to the former model.”

Viewers winced in discomfort when Lisa made her remark, since Alison happened to be wearing similar items at that very instant.

“Alison expressed her preference for slim-fitting jeans,” Lisa countered, “but I think they can highlight imperfections unnecessarily.”

In a moment that felt awkward for those watching, Alison asked: ‘Do you think?’

Viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, to share why they felt the moment was uncomfortable.

They wrote: ‘I only wear a skinny jean and then she says no one looks good in them thanks Lisa,’;

‘”Stay away from skinny jeans” whilst Alison is sat there wearing them,’;

‘”Nobody looks good in a skinny jean” erm isn’t Alison wearing skinny jeans Lis?’

The day after viewers criticized another segment as difficult to endure, Alison and Dermot O’Leary introduced two specialists promoting the idea that feigning laughter could improve moods and eventually make people happier through a practice known as laughter yoga.

During the ITV1 daytime show’s seven-week summer hiatus, the new hosts conversed about an unusual method and showed the audience how to forcefully laugh on live television.

The pair attempted to use the “feigned laughter” technique along with the group, yet they unexpectedly burst into real laughter, perplexing daytime program spectators.

Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley are now taking a seven-week vacation from Their Morning Show, which they have only been hosting for the past four months.

On March 11, the new ITV daytime show hosts began their tenure, and reports indicate they each earn a yearly salary of £555,000.

During the show’s yearly summer hiatus, lasting almost two months, the hosts will be taking a leave of absence. In their absence, the program will feature rotating guest presenters.

On Mondays, Alison and Dermot started the summer series with their favorite shows, followed by some regular guests coming back to join them on the couch.

In addition, Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Rylan Clark, Rochelle Humes, and Joel Dommett will be joining as hosts, along with new mother Sian Welby who is making her comeback to broadcasting after giving birth to her daughter Ruby last month.

On September 2, ITV’s popular daytime program sees the comeback of Ben and Cat. Meanwhile, Alison and Dermot resume their hosting duties for Fridays starting September 6.

As an assistant to Martin Frizell, the editor of This Morning, I’m thrilled to share that viewers are in for a treat this summer. They won’t want to miss even a single moment of our captivating lineup.

The shows will be well-attended and full of material, rain or shine. Both on-camera and off-camera teams will ensure the country stays entertained.

I’m thrilled that Alison and Dermot are starting things off, and with our stellar lineup of hosts – some of the greatest names in television – they will provide engaging content for Britain’s most popular daytime program.
