Travis Barker’s daughter Alabama Barker, 18, admits she takes weight-loss medication… months after clapping back at claims she had too much plastic surgery

As a woman who has grown up in the public eye, I can only imagine the pressure Alabama Barker must feel to look and present herself a certain way. With her father being a famous drummer in the band Blink-182, she has always been under the microscope. However, it is her own life and her own body, and she should have the right to make choices for herself, whether that be cosmetic procedures or not.

Last December, Alabama Barker, the 18-year-old daughter of Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler, shared that she has begun using weight-loss medication.

In a recent makeup tutorial video that she shared on her social media account, the young celebrity confessed something, although it’s not yet clear which specific social media site she used to make the post.

Alabama did not specify which medication.

The star applied her makeup while confessing, “I’m taking weight-loss medication now. I’m sick of feeling overweight and hate how I look in photos – like an ugly ogre.”

Her admission comes months after she denied claims she had too much plastic surgery done.

The footage was shared by a fan on TikTok.

Alabama was doing her makeup in the video, as she started talking about her self-image.

I have a peculiar hobby that involves capturing images of the unconventional beauty in the world around me. And yet, some folks can’t help but comment on my appearance with shock and disbelief: “Wow, you’re really heavy, and quite unattractive,” they’d say.

Alabama replied, “I understand your perspective, but I’d really appreciate the chance to meet you in person. I feel like my appearance may be different in real life.”

I’ve struggled with my weight for years, trying different diets and exercise routines with little success. It’s been a source of frustration and embarrassment for me, leading me to feel self-conscious and unhappy with my appearance. That’s why I made the decision to consult with my doctor about weight loss medication. I’m tired of feeling like an outsider in my own life, constantly being passed over for opportunities due to my size or feeling uncomfortable in social situations. The thought of continuing down this path was no longer an option for me. So yes, I’ve started taking medication to help manage my weight, but it’s not a decision I made lightly or without consideration for the potential risks and side effects. It’s a step towards prioritizing my health and happiness, and I won’t let anyone make me feel ashamed for making that choice for myself.

Last year, after losing my dear parents, I found myself dealing with more than just grief. The emotional pain came hand in hand with extra pounds that seemed to cling to me. In an effort to regain control and focus on healing, I made the decision to consult my doctor about weight loss options. She suggested trying a medication called Mounjaro, which I began taking in June. This personal journey is about prioritizing self-care and finding balance in my life during this challenging time.

She shared with People magazine how she found herself in a deeply sad and hopeless state. Her diet and exercise routine came to a halt, and her eating habits became unhealthy. Overwhelmed by despair, she yearned for the comfort of her late parents.

Throughout this period, there was significant public attention on her due to her ex-husband Travis’ romance with Kourtney Kardashian.

Shanna had said she was eating the pain away and  turned to Mounjaro.

Months after Alabama responded to allegations of excessive cosmetic surgeries, her application for a weight-loss medication was accepted.

In late April, she also shared a reel of herself in the reflection of a bathroom mirror.

In text added towards the bottom she wrote: ‘I’ve had no cosmetic surgery done to my body!!’

She went on to explain, “I haven’t had anything done at the present time, let’s not jump to conclusions.”

In response to a social media user’s comment in February, Alabama addressed the concern about the young child’s apparent multiple cosmetic surgeries.

The commenter wrote it beneath a series of bikini snaps she shared to her Instagram page.

The troll continued, adding: ‘I hope she doesn’t overdo it. She looks good now!’

She asked people to ‘accept the fact I’m naturally beautiful.’

In October 2023, Alabama openly acknowledged using lip fillers and posted a photo from her doctor’s office, giving credit to the nurse practitioner in the caption.

Alabama replied to the troll with: “Your compliments are truly valued by me. I may be natural in most aspects, but my lips are an exception.”
