As a huge fan of Sir David Attenborough‘s work, I am absolutely thrilled to hear that he is partnering with National Geographic for this new ocean documentary. With nearly a century of experience filming every aspect of the natural world, his insights and knowledge are unparalleled. This project promises to be his most powerful message yet, shedding light on the importance of our oceans and the urgent need to restore their health.
For the first time in his profession, Sir David Attenborough is teaming up with National Geographic to create a groundbreaking documentary focusing on the condition of our global oceans.
David Attenborough’s Ocean Crusade
The renowned broadcaster, known for his lengthy career, has filmed almost every corner of nature for nearly a century. However, National Geographic assures us that this upcoming project will convey his strongest message to date.
In this extended documentary, he shares his vast expertise and knowledge gained over a lifetime to guide us on an awe-inspiring exploration of the world’s most breathtaking underwater ecosystems. We will discover that we are living in an era of unprecedented ocean exploration, revealing it as the most significant place on Earth.
As Attenborough reveals the major issues threatening our oceans, his message is one of optimism. We have the chance to restore marine life in a way that no living person has experienced before.
Next year, the film helmed by directors Toby Nowlan, Keith Scholey, and Colin Butfield will debut in cinemas. Afterward, it will be available to watch on a global scale through National Geographic and Disney+.
“I’ve lived through the remarkable era of exploring the depths of the oceans,” Attenborough expressed in a statement.
During the past century, we’ve uncovered breathtakingly new animal species, awe-inspiring journeys, and intricately woven ecosystems that surpassed my childhood imagination.
In the movie, we’ll reveal fascinating findings about the ocean’s state and explain why it’s in distress. Moreover, we’ll present ways it can recover and thrive once again.
David Attenborough’s “Ocean” movie (tentative title) is scheduled for a cinema release in 2025. Afterward, it will be accessible to audiences around the world on National Geographic and Disney+ platforms.
