Radio personality Kyle Sandilands was seen near his home in Vaucluse on Saturday, marking his first public appearance in several days. He appeared to be feeling down.
The 54-year-old man, dressed entirely in black, briefly appeared outside his home in the eastern suburbs, seemingly trying to appear strong despite the situation.
He was joined by his wife, Tegan Kynaston, and they enjoyed a leisurely walk with their three-year-old son, Otto, and their dogs.
Tegan wore a light, summery dress for their outing, and little Otto seemed happy and relaxed as they enjoyed the sunshine. Kyle, however, looked more quiet and reserved.
This heartwarming family moment happened during a tough week for the presenter, who recently lost his job and had his show, The Kyle & Jackie O Show, cancelled.
KIIS FM employees are said to be very upset after learning about the show being cancelled only an hour after Kyle Sandilands announced he was leaving.
Kyle stood outside, lost in thought, with his hands hidden in his hoodie pockets as he watched the situation unfold.
Wearing a black cap to keep a low profile, Kyle stayed close to home after a difficult few days.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I saw him just lost in thought. He was staring off into space, and his face… it was so serious! You could just tell he was really feeling the weight of everything happening, like it was all on his shoulders. It was heartbreaking, but also… captivating. I just wanted to reach out and take some of that burden away from him.
Tegan seemed cheerful and happily led the family outing, walking Otto along the sidewalk while also holding the dog’s leash.
The young boy seemed happy walking with his mother, occasionally looking up at her as they strolled through the tree-lined streets.
Tegan has mostly remained private throughout the recent issues, and seems to be prioritizing creating a stable environment for their child, even with all the public attention.
It was really special to see the family together like that, especially knowing Kyle’s going through a tough time with his career right now. It felt like a rare, intimate moment, and I was grateful to get a peek into their lives during everything they’re dealing with.
The way Kyle and Tegan were seen – Kyle alone and looking downcast, and Tegan casually walking with her family – suggests they’re each dealing with the aftermath of something difficult in their own way.
Staff at KIIS FM are said to be very upset after learning that The Kyle & Jackie O Show was cancelled, just an hour after Kyle Sandilands announced he was leaving the station.
The radio personality, age 54, announced Wednesday morning that his 10-year contract with KIIS FM’s parent company, Australian Radio Network, had been cancelled. The contract was worth $100 million.
Only an hour after Kyle made his surprising announcement, news.com.au reported that the CEO of ARN, Michael Stephenson, emailed staff to confirm that The Kyle & Jackie O Show had been cancelled.
An email stated that ARN has cancelled its contract with Kyle and Quasar Media, effective this morning.
‘As a result ARN will no longer present the Kyle and Jackie O Show.’
It was also revealed that Mike E would continue to helm the breakfast music show.
The publication said that before the show was cancelled, staff received an email telling them not to talk to the media directly.
The cancellation of the show came as a surprise to KIIS staff. Reports indicate that some of those working on the show aren’t directly employed by ARN, the radio network, but are instead hired through Kyle Sandilands’ company, King Kyle.
According to a source, employees were concerned about their job security and frustrated with the way things were managed.
