‘ALF’ star Benji Gregory dies at 46 amid Arizona heat wave

I deeply mourn the untimely passing of Benji Gregory, a talented actor and beloved member of the entertainment industry who rose to fame in the late-’80s for his role as Brian Tanner on the iconic family sitcom “ALF.” His death at the age of 46 is a tragic loss, and my heart goes out to his loved ones during this difficult time.

Last month in Arizona, at the age of 46, passed away Benji Gregory, best known for his role in the popular ’80s family sitcom “ALF.”

The Maricopa County medical examiner’s office hadn’t yet determined and announced the official reason for his death by Wednesday evening.

Based on the information provided, it seems that Gregory tragically lost his life due to the extreme heat in a parking lot in Peoria, Arizona. I have lived in hot climates myself, and I can only imagine how quickly temperatures can rise in such environments, especially when enclosed by asphalt and concrete. It’s heartbreaking to think of someone succumbing to the elements so unexpectedly and suddenly. My condolences go out to Gregory’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. May they find peace and comfort in their memories of him.

“With deep sadness, I must share the tragic news that my brother Ben and his cherished service dog Hans were both found deceased in his car on June 13.”

On June 12, after driving to the bank to deposit leftover checks, it seemed he had dozed off in the car and fallen asleep.

“Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger added, ‘Ben was an exceptional son, brother, and uncle.’ His presence brought joy and amusement to those around him. Yet, amidst the sadness of going through his belongings, I find myself chuckling at saved videos and notes of his, interspersed with tears.”

As a moviegoer reflecting on a poignant biographical film, I’d share that the director, Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, made a moving revelation to The New York Times. She mentioned her personal connection to the story as her own brother struggled with bipolar disorder and depression throughout his life. He bravely sought treatment for both conditions.

During the second part of the 1980s, Gregory gained widespread recognition for portraying the character Brian Tanner in a popular TV series. In this program, an extraterrestrial being with hair all over its body named ALF came to live with his family after their house was accidentally invaded by his spaceship.

As a huge fan of classic television shows, I can’t help but be in awe of the rich and diverse careers some actors have had. One such individual is Gregory, a California native who graced our screens in countless commercials and made memorable appearances on hit shows like “The A-Team,” “The Twilight Zone,” and “T.J. Hooker.”
