Azure Ray announced roster changes and new lineup for Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational

As a long-time fan and avid follower of Azure Ray, I’ve watched their journey through thick and thin, from their early successes to their recent setbacks. I must admit that the news of several members leaving and a new temporary lineup came as a surprise.

Azure Ray has revealed that a few members have left the team, and they will be using a substitute lineup for the upcoming competition following an early exit at the Riyadh tournament.

Azure Ray is currently going through a period of transition following an early elimination at the Play-In stage of Riyadh Masters 2024. They have officially announced that some team members will be departing, and a new interim roster has been unveiled to prepare for the Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational.

Azure Ray roster changes

In their recent update, the Azure Ray team announced that midlaner Zhang “LaNm,” players Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang, Zhang “Faith_bian,” and position five player Jiang “天命(TianMing)” An will no longer be actively competing with the team.

Azure Ray has had the guidance of Lanm from the beginning, helping them reach the top six in Tier One competitions numerous times. However, more recently, their drafting process has received negative feedback from the community, resulting in mediocre performances.

Xu “fy” Linsen, an original member of AR team, made a comeback to professional gaming with Somnus and chalice, securing a fourth-place finish at The International 2023. There have been whispers about his absence being due to insufficient practice, causing friction with Yang “Erika” Shaohan. Furthermore, the arrival of a new family member presents an ideal moment for him to take a breather.

As an avid fan, I can’t help but feel excited about AR’s recent company reorganization that brought Ori back into the fold from retirement. Although he holds a significant position and enjoys his retired life, this new opportunity could be just what he needs to consider rejoining the retirement club once more.

Last year, TianMing made his debut at position five with AR, marking his first appearance at The International. He is the only member who hasn’t left AR; instead, he transitioned into an inactive role. Look forward to seeing him potentially compete again. AR’s official Weibo expresses heartfelt appreciation for these members’ commitment and wishes them prosperous careers ahead.

Temporary lineup revealed

I’m part of the Azure Ray gaming team, and we’re getting ready to take on some serious competition at the upcoming Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational in China. To gear up for this challenging tournament, we’ve made a few changes to our lineup:

  • Xie “Super” Junhao joins as coach, bringing extensive experience having led VG to second place at TI4 and achieved multiple coaching accolades thereafter.
  • Gu “Han” Jiahan, loaned from Dark Horse, fills the midlaner role, expected to introduce new tactics and strategies.
  • Lin “planet” Hao, loaned from LGD, brings precise play and strategic prowess as soft support.
  • Yu “皮球(PiQiu)” Yajunjoins as the hard support player, previously excelling in TI11 and the Asian Games Dota2 event, having played for several prominent Chinese teams.

Note that this new lineup is a temporary one. AR’s future adjustments remain unclear.

What is Azure Ray’s new temporary roster?

The latest lineup for Azure Ray is as follows:

  • Lou “Lou” Zhen
  • Gu “Han” Jiahan
  • Zhang “Bach” Ruida
  • Lin “planet” Hao
  • Yu “皮球(PiQiu)” Yajun
  • Xie “Super” Junhao (Coach)

Azure Ray’s next tournament

At the end of this month, the Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational will see Azure Ray go up against some notable Chinese teams, joined by esteemed groups like Team Spirit, Team Secret, and Nigma Galaxy.
