Stranger Things team is "going full force" with season 5

As a long-time fan and avid gamer, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration as I eagerly await the release of Stranger Things season 5. The production process for this final installment has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, with numerous delays due to strikes and the ongoing pandemic.

The production of “Stranger Things” season 5 seems to have taken an exceptionally long time. Numerous setbacks occurred, with significant delays caused by industry-wide strikes in 2023 being the most notable. If these disruptions hadn’t happened, we would probably be discussing spinoffs instead of focusing on the ongoing filming. As filming continues, Gaten Matarazzo is eagerly anticipating its completion.

Matarazzo has played beloved character Dustin on the show since its first season. He joined the cast at only 13 years old, and now, at 21, finds it challenging to convincingly portray a teenager. When queried by TMZ about his apprehensions regarding growing older than the role, he acknowledged that the team is putting in immense effort to release the last season as soon as possible. “Yes, that’s the plan,” he replied.

I’m deeply invested in this project and can’t wait for the grand finale. We’re giving it our all to ensure a timely release. You understand that this season has been massive, right? Consequently, filming took longer than expected, and we’ve faced some setbacks due to the pandemic and labor strikes. Nevertheless, we’re pushing through and remain committed to delivering an outstanding conclusion.

Regarding Dustin’s potential departure from the show, Matarazzo playfully remarked, “I might just have to exit the scene myself – why not?” In reality, he intends to make the most of his last days on set and participate fully. “I hope that if it comes to an end for me, I can be a part of it as much as possible. I want to spend as much time with my co-stars as I can.”

The last installment of “Stranger Things” is yet to be given a launch date due to ongoing filming. It may be some time before we see its debut, possibly towards the end of 2025.

Gaten Matarazzo “absolutely despised” filming Eddie Munson’s final scene

As a devoted gamer and fan of Stranger Things, I must admit that the show has given us some truly emotional moments. From Chrissy’s tragic demise to Bob’s heart-wrenching farewell, there have been plenty of scenes that left us in tears. However, none compare to the poignant scene when Hellfire Club leader Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) met his end. In a valiant act of bravery and selflessness, Munson sacrificed himself while helping to save the world. That’s right, I shed a tear or two as he went down swinging.

The last scene, where Dustin stayed by his side as he passed away, was incredibly emotional. As Matarazzo shared with ScreenRant, filming it was a particularly challenging experience for him. “We had to shoot it twice,” he explained. “I truly disliked the initial take. He was exceptional, but I just couldn’t get it right. It was early in the morning outside, we had completed an entire day of filming previously, and at that point, both of us were exhausted – I simply wasn’t present.”

It’s true that there are many speculations that Eddie Munson could return to life in the last season of “Stranger Things.” This isn’t a new concept, as Jim Hopper was revived in previous seasons. Fans have come up with numerous theories, and Joseph Quinn has been vague about the possibility of returning to the show. We’ll find out the answer together!
