First trailer for Sebastian Stan’s new movie
As a huge fan of Sebastian Stan and intrigued by thought-provoking films that delve deep into human complexity, I can hardly contain my excitement for “A Different Man.” The first trailer alone has piqued my curiosity and left me eager to witness Stan’s transformative performance.
A Different Man, the new film starring Marvel’s Sebastian Stan, has unveiled its first trailer.
In this film, Stan takes on the role of Edward, a character who seeks a new beginning by undergoing facial reconstruction surgery. Post-surgery, Edward develops an intense fascination with Oswald (portrayed by Adam Pearson), the actor portraying him in a stage adaptation of his past life.
The trailer opens with Stan portraying Edward, a character affected by neurofibromatosis and wearing prosthetics, expressing dissatisfaction with his life. Following this, Edward undergoes drastic surgery that appears to improve his situation. However, the arrival of Oswald disrupts this progression, forcing Edward to confront both his past and new identity.
Alongside Stan and Pearson, the actors in this production are Renate Reinsve, C Mason Wells, Owen Kline, and Michael Shannon. Aaron Schimberg, who collaborated with Pearson on “Chained for Life,” is responsible for writing and directing the film.
At the Sundance Film Festival in January, where it had its world premiere, A Different Man was met with favorable critiques, and now, with 49 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, it maintains a strong approval rating of 86%.

Variety
As a gamer, I’ve come across “A Different Man,” a game that offers an intriguing twist. In this storyline, Stan and Pearson are characters with similar appearances. Yet, instead of making them likeable or relatable, the creators dared to make each man insufferable in their unique ways.
Screen International
For art film enthusiasts, this witty and contemplative existential comedy, brimming with depth and introspection, could spark intrigue and remind some of the uniquely quirky and poignant films by Charlie Kaufman.
The Daily Beast
“The thought-provoking movie ‘A Different Man’ explores themes of disguise, both literal and metaphorical. It’s a complex and intriguing watch.”
A Different Man is in cinemas on September 20.
