Everyone has different energy levels – some prefer mornings, others nights. But a surprising number of celebrities are really early risers, especially when it comes to exercise. Mark Wahlberg has talked about his 4 AM workouts for a while now, and it turns out he’s not alone – many other stars have equally intense fitness routines.
Mark Wahlberg frequently posts about his 4 AM workout club on social media. He describes it as a way of life, and has explained that the early start actually means he’s waking up around 2:30 a.m. He’s also confirmed that these incredibly early workout times are genuine.

By waking up early and exercising before 6 a.m., the actor from The Family Plan can fit in a round of golf in Las Vegas before the heat of the day sets in. He then dedicates his afternoons to work and family. While his schedule shifts when he’s filming, he usually still manages to get his morning workout in.
Wahlberg has been honest that Mondays (which seem to be leg day) are “the worst,” but he shares his 4AM persistence often, and is a great follow on Instagram if that’s a routine you’re looking to get into yourself. He’s been doing this for years; in fact, I once watched him push James Corden through a 4AMer when he was still a late night host like seven years ago, so this doesn’t seem to be a routine he’ll be ending anytime soon.
Jennifer Lopez And Dwayne Johnson Are Other Examples Of Extreme Early Birds In Hollywood
Jennifer Lopez is known for her dedication to fitness and consistently works out early in the morning. She prioritizes getting her workouts done first thing, whether it’s traditional strength training or preparing for physically demanding movie roles – she even learned pole dancing for the film Hustlers! According to reports, she starts as early as 4 or 5 AM, similar to Mark Wahlberg. Her trainer, Tracy Anderson, has praised Lopez’s positive attitude and strong work ethic, even during these early morning sessions.
It’s really inspiring to work out with her. She’s incredibly dedicated and always has a positive attitude, bringing amazing energy and a generous spirit to every session. She’s truly a fantastic person.
I’m always amazed by how dedicated these celebrities are to their fitness! Like, The Rock is on another level – I’ve seen screenshots of his alarms going off super early, sometimes around 4:09 AM, and some sources even say he’s up as early as 3:30! He does cardio before his actual weightlifting session, which is just wild to me. It reminds me a bit of Mark Wahlberg’s routine, too – these guys are seriously committed.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Mark Wahlberg once playfully competed about who could do more pull-ups, with Wahlberg claiming he could beat Johnson. It’s unclear who would win now, but it would be fun to see them compete! Johnson doesn’t start his workouts with pull-ups, though. He prefers to do cardio first, then focuses on weightlifting later in the day. His trainer emphasizes that using the correct weight and intensity is crucial to his fitness routine.
Kim Kardashian Gets Up Pretty Early, Too
Let’s talk about Kim Kardashian, another celebrity who’s an early riser. I admire her strong work ethic, but she seems more balanced about it than some other stars. She recently told Vogue she combines weight training, Pilates, and a bit of cardio, and prefers to do her workouts early in the morning.
This reality TV personality usually starts her day by getting dressed for a workout, but she often ends up taking her kids to school first before she can actually go to the gym.
Honestly, my morning workouts are all about just hitting play on some music and powering through. I’ll admit, I’m that person at the gym who checks their phone constantly and even replies to messages mid-workout. I’m pretty sure it drives my trainer crazy, but I can’t help it!
Kim trains with well-known fitness expert Senada Greca, incorporating exercises like squats with 40-pound resistance bands. She typically dedicates a few days each week to upper body workouts. While she’s surprisingly good at running, she doesn’t enjoy dancing or hot yoga as much.
