As a seasoned gamer with a deep interest in NASCAR, I’m thrilled to hear about Front Row Motorsports expanding their lineup to three full-time entries for the 2025 Cup Series season. The addition of Noah Gragson to the team is an exciting move, and it seems we might be seeing some changes in driver lineups across teams.

Noah Gragson will officially join Front Row Motorsports in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series, marking the first of three drivers for the team following their decision to add a third car next season. Stewart-Haas Racing’s driver confirmed his move on Wednesday.

At the close of the 2024 racing season, Stewart-Haas Racing is slated to wind down its operations. As a result, three out of their four coveted charters have been put up for grabs. Team co-owner Gene Haas decided to keep the fourth charter to continue running the one-car Haas Factory Team.

It was widely believed that Front Row Motorsports would acquire one of the three charters from Stewart-Haas Racing when they announced their plans for expansion. This upcoming 2025 season marks their return to fielding three full-time teams, a feat they last achieved in 2019.

Michael McDowell is set to leave the No. 34 Ford team after seven seasons and join Spire Motorsports to drive the No. 71 Chevrolet, replacing Zane Smith. In contrast, Todd Gilliland has renewed his contract with Front Row Motorsports, ensuring he will race with them for a fourth consecutive year.

Noah Gragson car number not revealed

It hasn’t been officially announced if Gilliland will continue to drive the No. 38 Ford, while Gragson’s assignment to the No. 34 or No. 36 Ford, as well as his crew chief and sponsors, are still undecided.

If the team plans to have three young drivers racing for them in 2025, it’s possible that Gilliland, being the most experienced driver, might be shifted to the No. 34 car instead.

Smith, a two-season veteran with Front Row Motorsports in the Truck Series who clinched the 2022 title, is rumored to be a strong contender for the open Cup Series position at the team in 2025.

Shane van Gisbergen is temporarily racing for Spire Motorsports through an arrangement with Trackhouse Racing Team. However, there’s a strong possibility that Trackhouse Racing Team will promote van Gisbergen to a full-time position if they manage to secure a charter from Stewart-Haas Racing and increase their team size from two to three cars.

Sam Mayer from JR Motorsports’ Xfinity Series and Christian Eckes of McAnally-Hilgemann Racing’s Truck Series are reportedly being considered as potential drivers for Bob Jenkins’ team, joining Gilliland and Gragson.
