Élodie Yung famously portrayed Elektra in the Netflix series Daredevil, and fans are now wondering if she’ll return to the role in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again.
Yung recently shared some workout photos on Instagram, announcing “New goals.” One picture showed her silhouette while lifting weights, and another showed her doing exercises on a mat. She also posted a photo of the phrase “No Pain, No Gain” written on a wall.
People flooded her social media comments with guesses about what the post meant for her job, with many believing she was getting in shape for a role in the upcoming season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, which just started filming.
Yung noticed fans are overwhelmingly mentioning Elektra in response to her recent Instagram post. She playfully acknowledged the buzz, writing, “Ooooh You guys really want my Elektra back. I love it ❤️🔥😈,” hinting at the possibility of reprising the role.

Yung didn’t say whether or not she’d be in season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again, but the news still got fans very excited online.
Yung posted a picture on her Instagram Stories showing the view from an airplane window, but she didn’t say where she was going or if it was for work.

Jennifer Garner first portrayed Elektra in the 2003 Daredevil movie. More than ten years later, Elodie Yung took on the role for the Netflix series, and later reprised it in The Defenders, a team-up show similar to The Avengers featuring Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
Matt Murdock and Elektra had met before, and their paths crossed again on the show Daredevil. They teamed up, even though Elektra later became something of a rival to the heroes.
Elodie Yung’s Elektra last appeared in The Defenders, and it’s still unknown if she survived the explosion that Matt Murdock escaped from.
When Netflix ended its Marvel collaborations, Disney+ brought Daredevil back with the series Born Again, which debuted in 2025. The revival also included familiar faces from the original Netflix shows, such as Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson.
The second season of Daredevil: Born Again, launching on March 24th, promises more thrilling action featuring the popular superhero. Krysten Ritter will be back as Jessica Jones for this new season.
Although we learned about Wilson Fisk’s return last year, Charlie Cox’s involvement in the new Daredevil series hasn’t been officially confirmed. There were earlier, unconfirmed reports that Elodie Yung wouldn’t reprise her role as Elektra, but those rumors haven’t been substantiated with any official announcements.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premieres Tuesday, March 24 at 9 p.m. EDT on Disney+.
