Sarah Michelle Gellar, 47, puts on a very leggy display in a thigh-skimming mini dress while promoting her new movie in London following Buffy The Vampire Slayer reboot being axed

Sarah Michelle Gellar looked stunning while promoting her latest film, Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come, in London on Friday.

The 47-year-old actress appeared much younger than her age, showcasing a slender figure in a short black dress as she arrived for a radio interview in the city.

Sarah looked stylish in a chic outfit with flowing, draped sleeves and a high collar. She completed the look with a pair of very high heels.

Accentuating her features with make-up, she styled her long blonde tresses into loose bouncy curls.

The actress was accompanied by her co-star, Kathryn Newton, 29, who looked like a classic Hollywood starlet in a white mini dress, long opera gloves, and sunglasses.

Sarah shared that she was very upset about Hulu’s choice to cancel the planned reboot of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

TMZ reports that both Sarah and the director of the show’s revival, Chloe Zhao, were surprised and upset by the news, and felt it was poorly timed.

The actress famous for playing Buffy Summers on the original series strongly criticized a Disney executive she didn’t name, accusing him of repeatedly pointing out his dislike for the show and ultimately being responsible for its cancellation.

Viewers of the show, which aired from 1997 to 2003, quickly started guessing who the Disney executive was.

Craig Erwich, who leads Disney Television Group, was among the executives people were talking about.

Several sources have now told the Daily Mail that Glenn Erwich was the one who decided to cancel the planned ‘Buffy’ reboot, which came as a shock and left those working on the show deeply upset.

Despite the show’s cancellation, there’s still a possibility of more Buffy, as sources suggest Sarah Michelle Gellar is interested in continuing the story in a new format, potentially giving fans the reboot they’ve desired for over two decades.

‘It was him; the buck stopped with Craig,’ an insider told the Daily Mail.

According to an insider, he disliked the project and didn’t believe it would succeed. He clearly felt burdened by having to work on it, often rolling his eyes when it was mentioned. Ultimately, he cancelled it because he wasn’t happy with its progress. Many colleagues believe this was a significant error in judgment, but he made the final call.

Deadline reported in February 2025 that Sarah Michelle Gellar will return as Buffy Summers in a new pilot for Hulu. The pilot will be directed by Zhao, the director of ‘Hamnet,’ who is a longtime fan of the original series.

Next, 16-year-old actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong was chosen to star in the reboot as the new vampire slayer in Sunnydale. Interestingly, she was cast at age 16, just three years younger than Sarah Michelle Gellar was when she originally played Buffy in 1997.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this project closely! The first episode was penned by the incredibly talented sister writing team, Nora and Lilla Zuckerman. Plus, it had some fantastic original producers on board – Gail Berman, along with the dynamic duo Fran and Kaz Kuzui. They all brought a lot of creative energy to the start of the series.

During filming, Sarah regularly shared photos from the set with her 5 million Instagram followers, including one from the pilot episode’s table read last July. She also posted a picture with Zhao, where they were both playfully holding wooden daggers.

On Saturday, Sarah shared disappointing news with fans in a sad video: the reboot had been canceled.

People magazine reported that Sarah found out whether her show would continue on March 13th. She received the news while at the premiere of her new movie, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, which was also made by Searchlight.
