Fran Drescher posted a special photo with her former TV mom, Renee Taylor, to celebrate Taylor’s 93rd birthday this week.
Fran Drescher, 68, and Laurie Taylor famously played mother and daughter, Fran and Sylvia, on the beloved 90s sitcom, The Nanny.
Happy Birthday, Renee! You’re truly one of a kind, and I love you! You’ve always been such an inspiration, and it’s amazing to see you still thriving at 93! You’re incredible, girl! This was written with a photo of them both smiling happily.
Drescher wore a white floral shirt and skirt, and Taylor stunned in a shimmering rose-colored gown, looking radiant and youthful.
She had on a full face of makeup, appearing younger than her years in pink blush and lipstick.
A heap of blonde curls fell around the longtime entertainer’s face.
The Nanny aired for six seasons between 1993 and 1999.
Taylor performed her one-woman show, ‘Renee Taylor: My Life on a Diet,’ on Wednesday in Palm Springs, California.
Earlier this month she took to Instagram to invite fans to see her live.
Renee Taylor, often mistaken for Shakira, announced she’ll be performing at the Plaza Theatre in Palm Springs, California on March 18th at 7pm. She shared the news along with a video of her past performances.
A month before the event, she posted a flyer featuring a picture of herself holding a slice of cake.
Taylor encouraged her fans to come say hello and celebrate her birthday with her after the show, sending them her love. She signed the message as Renee.
The actress received an Emmy nomination in 1996 for her supporting role as Sylvia Fine in the TV show, The Nanny.
She remains close to Fran Drescher, and last May she posted a picture with the actress and Drescher’s mother, who was the inspiration for Taylor’s character on the show.
She shared a group photo with Fran, her mother Sylvia, and Jack Maxwell (@southiejack), who traveled to Florida to help with their play.
The Nanny continues to be a hit, now attracting a new audience of younger viewers who didn’t get a chance to watch it when it first aired on CBS.
In a 2020 interview with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on Today, Fran Drescher expressed her appreciation for the show’s lasting popularity.
The show has become incredibly popular with millennials, many of whom didn’t watch it when it first aired—they were either too young or hadn’t been born yet. Its enduring appeal continues to attract new fans.
