As a huge fan of Invincible, I’m really excited about where things are going! The Guardians of the Globe are still the main superhero team, and they’ve got a new lineup. Picking up after the crazy events of season 3, season 4 shows the world really struggling to recover. It’s awesome seeing how all the characters – Mark Grayson, his friends, and everyone else – are dealing with everything that’s happened.
As a huge fan of Invincible, I was really struck by how season 3 dealt with the aftermath of the Invincible War. It’s tough seeing Mark and the remaining heroes trying to pick up the pieces with so many protectors gone. Honestly, Rex Splode’s death hit me hard – it felt like a genuinely massive loss, and really drove home the point that absolutely no one is safe in this universe. It was a shocking moment in the last couple of episodes and completely changed things.
The characters in the show are dealing with recent losses while also searching for weapons to fight the Viltrumites from Invincible, who remain a major threat. Fortunately, some of Earth’s strongest heroes are working together to combat this danger. These heroes, known as the Guardians of the Globe, are Mark’s primary allies in the ongoing fight against those who threaten the planet.
| Guardians of the Globe Member | Actor |
|---|---|
| Brit | Jonathan Banks |
| Rex/Robot | Ross Marquand |
| Monster Girl | Grey DeLisle |
| Black Samson | Khary Payton |
| Bulletproof | Jay Pharoah |
| Shapesmith | Ben Schwartz |
Even though the team members have changed throughout the four seasons of Invincible, the Guardians of the Globe are still a strong presence, each with their own special powers. The start of season four suggests this won’t change, showing the Guardians fighting in multiple battles and hinting at even more action and story developments to come.
Brit
At the end of Invincible season 3 and the start of season 4, Brit has taken over as the leader of the Guardians of the Globe. She replaced The Immortal, who stepped down after the difficult Invincible War. During the war, Cecil Stedman asked for her help.
Brit has been friends with Cecil for a long time and often works with the Global Defense Agency, so it wasn’t surprising he immediately offered help when they needed it. Because he’s experienced and a natural leader, Brit takes charge of the Guardians of the Globe in season 4 of Invincible.
Brit is essentially unhurtable – his primary power is complete invulnerability. Unlike Mark, who is known as “Invincible” but has been injured on occasion, Brit cannot be harmed by anything. This makes him the most durable hero in the Invincible universe.
Brit is significantly stronger than most people because he can utilize his full weight without getting hurt. He’s also more agile and faster, though these abilities aren’t unlimited. In terms of physical capability, he’s comparable to Captain America – representing the absolute peak of human potential.
Rex/Robot
Rex, also known as Robot, has been a key member of the Guardians of the Globe since the beginning of Invincible. He originally went by Rudy, but changed his name to Rex in memory of Rex Splode after the Invincible War. His Robot abilities made him one of the first heroes chosen to join the Guardians in season 1.
Rex was born with serious physical limitations, so he built a robotic suit controlled by his thoughts, allowing him to become a superhero. This suit, similar to Iron Man’s, could fly and was equipped with many different weapons. Later, after growing a new body from Rex’s DNA, Rudy – who was also Rex – started piloting the suit himself.
With this new ability, Rex could now fight in battles personally, and still command a whole army of robot suits. His intelligence helps him succeed in difficult fights and situations, making him a strong candidate to lead the Guardians of the Globe after Brit.
Amanda/Monster Girl
I’ve known Monster Girl since the very beginning – she was one of the original Guardians of the Globe, appearing in Invincible season one! What’s really cool about her is that she can switch between looking like a normal human and transforming into this massive, green monster. When she’s in monster form, she’s unbelievably strong, tough, and fast – it’s pretty amazing to witness!
When Amanda first gained her powers, there was a catch: each transformation into her monster form caused her human body to become physically younger. This means she looks like a child, even though she’s actually 26. Fortunately, after Rex (or Rudy) fell in love with her, he used his intelligence to try and break the curse.
I was so thrilled to see Rex finally pull it off! By the time we get to season 4 of Invincible, Monster Girl has totally mastered her transformations. She can shift whenever she needs to without any negative consequences, and she’s become a really important part of the Guardians of the Globe team. It’s great to see her growth!
Bulletproof

When it comes to raw power, Bulletproof is arguably the strongest member of the Guardians of the Globe. His abilities are very similar to Invincible’s – he has enhanced strength, speed, and endurance, can fly, and is incredibly agile. While not quite as powerful as full-blooded Viltrumites like Mark Grayson and Omni-Man, he’s remarkably close in strength.
Bulletproof is one of the Guardians of the Globe’s most powerful members, frequently handling their toughest challenges. He became a key part of the team during season 2 of Invincible and remains a vital asset, as seen in season 4.
Black Samson
Black Samson has been a member of the Guardians of the Globe since the beginning of Invincible. He was part of the original team but temporarily lost his powers. After a brutal fight with Battle Beast in season 1, he regained them and returned to the Guardians, remaining with the team through season 4.
Like Bulletproof and Invincible, Samson is much stronger, faster, and tougher than a normal person. However, while those heroes can fly, Samson can’t. Instead, he fights by shooting electrical blasts at his opponents.
Black Samson is one of the Guardians of the Globe’s most powerful members, known for his ability to quickly heal. While he isn’t as strong as Invincible or the Viltrumites, he’s second in power only to Bulletproof within the team.
Shapesmith

Shapesmith is the last of the six members introduced in the fourth season of Invincible. He first appeared in season one as a stowaway Martian who infiltrated a GDA spaceship. Using his shapeshifting powers, he then disguised himself as Rus Livingston, an Earth astronaut.
Shapesmith has powers similar to the DC character Plastic Man, allowing him to transform his body into any shape or form he imagines. He can also stretch his body and limbs to extreme lengths. This incredible adaptability makes him a valuable and powerful member of the Guardians of the Globe.
In the third episode of Invincible season 4, the Guardians of the Globe face a crisis. Monster Girl and Robot become stranded on the dangerous planet of the Thraxans, and with the Viltrumites becoming an even bigger danger, the team’s future is uncertain.
