That Night just keeps getting better for Netflix.
Netflix is off to a strong start in 2026 thanks to its popular TV shows. Several thriller series have been particularly successful, including returning favorites like The Night Agent and new releases such as His & Hers, starring Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson.
The Spanish crime thriller That Night is the newest show gaining popularity on the streaming platform. Spain has consistently delivered international hits for Netflix, including the hugely successful Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) and Elite, both of which ran for multiple seasons. Now, That Night is poised to become the next big hit.
The new Netflix crime thriller, That Night, currently has a 63% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics. While not a particularly high score, it’s based on just eight reviews, so it could improve as more come in. That Night premiered on Netflix on March 13th, and an audience score hasn’t been released yet.

Jasneet Singh of Collider praised the Netflix crime thriller, noting that it shifts from a tense investigation of a shocking death into a moving story about family. The series, titled That Night, centers on three sisters when two travel to a secluded island to support their sister, who is involved in a murder.
Joel Keller from Decider criticized the Netflix thriller series, stating that he and other viewers struggled to connect with the sisters and the complicated predicament they find themselves in during ‘That Night.’ Since the show centers on the relationship between these three sisters, whether or not audiences enjoy it likely hinges on how invested they are in the sisters’ connection.
I have to say, despite a somewhat lukewarm reception from critics – the Tomatometer isn’t exactly glowing – Netflix’s That Night is really connecting with audiences. As of today, FlixPatrol shows it as the third most-watched show globally on the platform! It’s only behind the already-huge Virgin River and One Piece, and those two were benefiting from brand new seasons when That Night started climbing the charts. So, while the critics might be a little hesitant, viewers clearly can’t get enough!
The Spanish thriller series is currently performing better on Netflix than popular shows like Bridgerton, The Dinosaurs (by Steven Spielberg), and Love & Death (starring Elizabeth Olsen). While it’s not yet in the top 10 most-watched shows in the U.S., That Night is proving to be a success on Netflix, especially with its strong international viewership and positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.
