Taylor Frankie Paul, known from the show “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” has spoken out after an upsetting video from a 2023 incident involving domestic violence began circulating again.
A video obtained by TMZ on Thursday shows Jake Paul repeatedly hitting his former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
The video played a crucial role in the 2023 legal proceedings, ultimately leading to Paul’s guilty plea for aggravated assault.
After the video came out, ABC cancelled Paul’s upcoming season of The Bachelorette, which was scheduled to begin airing this Sunday.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this situation closely, and it’s truly disheartening. Recently, some old footage resurfaced, and a representative for Paul shared with the Daily Mail that it’s just another part of what they see as a relentless effort to hurt Taylor, with absolutely no consideration for the impact on their child. It’s a sad situation, and my heart goes out to everyone involved, especially the child caught in the middle.
Sharing an old video without providing the full story, especially on his son’s birthday, is a dishonest way to shift attention away from his own actions. Fortunately, people are familiar with this kind of behavior and understand his character. It’s disappointing, but many will recognize this manipulative tactic, both from what they’ve seen on television and in their personal lives.
Just two days before the video became public, Mortensen reportedly requested a court order for protection in Utah. This request followed a new incident that allegedly happened in February 2026, according to the source.
The documents show the argument happened at Paul’s house while their two-year-old son, Ever, was there.
According to Mortensen, a disagreement with Paul turned violent, and Paul reportedly choked him.
He says she grabbed his neck, and he had to pull her hands away. Then, she pushed him into a window and hit him.
Oh my god, it was absolutely insane! Apparently, things got so chaotic and scary that their son actually woke up! TMZ said Paul was just screaming and yelling – can you even imagine?! It sounds like a total nightmare, and I’m just so worried about everyone involved.
The petition also mentioned Paul’s prior arrest in 2023, when he alleged that Mortensen had thrown chairs at him.
In his court documents, he’s asked for temporary custody of Ever and requested that Paul not be allowed to drink alcohol or use drugs while Ever is in his care.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Paul and Mortensen’s representatives for further comment.
