On Wednesday night in Los Angeles, Sir David Beckham was seen sitting by himself in a sandwich shop, looking thoughtful under the bright lights.
A 50-year-old man and his son, Brooklyn, who haven’t seen each other since May, almost ran into each other twice on Monday while both were staying at the same hotel.
Still upset by his falling out with his 27-year-old son, Sir David ate dinner alone at Fat Sal’s, a restaurant near his son’s Beverly Hills home, and wore a plain white t-shirt.
According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail, David was upset because, although he wasn’t familiar with the Brooklyn area, he knew he was still in the same city as whoever he was concerned about.
Brooklyn spent a large part of his childhood in Los Angeles, which was a happy period for the Beckham family. Now, David is there without his son.
David Beckham, recently back from a ski trip in British Columbia with his son Romeo, 23, arrived in Los Angeles late Sunday night. He’s in town to film a commercial for Lays crisps and is staying at a luxury five-star hotel.
The retired soccer player began his day early on Monday, traveling five miles to Santa Monica to film a commercial for the snack company sponsoring the upcoming World Cup.
Okay, so after a late night celebrating at my godfather Sir Elton John’s amazing Oscars party with my wife, Nicola, I finally made it back to the hotel a few hours later. All I wanted was a good breakfast and some time to unwind by the pool – honestly, it was much needed!
Sir David returned to the famous Polo Lounge restaurant for dinner with friends at 6 p.m. This was three hours after someone last saw his son at the hotel.
People close to the Beckhams say David Beckham was unaware that Brooklyn was at the hotel during either of his visits.
David Beckham and his son haven’t talked since May, after Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t attend his 50th birthday party. The couple’s lawyers then instructed their legal team to handle all communication with the Beckhams, meaning David and his son could only communicate through lawyers.
Oh my god, you won’t BELIEVE what Brooklyn did! Right before Christmas, he just… blocked his parents on Instagram! Can you imagine?! Then, in January, he dropped this HUGE six-page letter online – seriously, SIX PAGES – basically saying his parents, David and Victoria, controlled his whole life. He claimed they tried to ruin his relationship with Nicola and that his mom embarrassed him during his first dance at his wedding – he said she was dancing ‘inappropriately’! It’s all so dramatic! His mom is saying it’s not true, of course, but I’ve read the letter and… wow. Just wow. I’m completely obsessed with finding out what happens next!
