Chelsea Handler jokes she caught STDs from moving into ‘loser’ RFK Jr.’s ‘toxic’ LA home

Chelsea Handler bought a house in Brentwood for $5.9 million in 2021, but it wasn’t ready to move into until recently. She had to make repairs to the foundation and remove an unapproved storage shed after the initial inspection revealed problems.

The comedian, age 51, just found out that the previous owners of his property were none other than RFK Jr., the controversial former US health secretary, and his wife, Cheryl Hines.

Handler acknowledged it sounded ridiculous, even inviting laughter. She explained she was unaware she was purchasing something from RFK Jr. because the transaction went through a blind trust, as she revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Tuesday.

This house feels incredibly outdated – like it hasn’t been updated since the 1960s. It took me four years to finally get it livable because of all the issues, and I really think the previous owner is to blame.

The host of the Critics Choice Awards made a joke claiming that the 72-year-old environmental lawyer had contracted ‘chlamydia, measles, and herpes’ from her previous home.

‘They sent me a note after I moved in,’ Handler continued.

I was shocked to realize I’d bought a house previously owned by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.! He’s someone I’d specifically avoid doing business with, considering everything that’s come to light. It feels like enough has been done to address the situation, and honestly, I have no sympathy for those involved.

Since launching his health-focused initiative, Kennedy has worked to limit processed foods and unhealthy oils in people’s diets. However, his opposition to vaccines has been linked to a significant increase in measles cases, with 1,362 outbreaks confirmed across the country in 2026.

The unusual Independent politician has repeatedly grabbed attention with his bizarre stories, including tales of working out in jeans, a supposed parasitic infection, encountering roadkill bears, cutting off the head of a deceased whale, and a shocking claim about drug use in public restrooms.

The New Jersey native also shared that previous relationships with members of the Kennedy family were always followed by misfortune.

‘I have to stay away from the Kennedys in general,’ Handler said.

I went sailing and skiing with these friends once, and the ski trip was a complete mess. They took me down a very difficult slope, and I actually had to walk back up the mountain.

‘I wasn’t ready. I wasn’t the skier I am today. I’m a great skier

now. But then I was on a sailboat with Ethel and my dress blew up, it was awful.’

Chelsea Handler first shared on her podcast, Dear Chelsea, on March 5th, that she had purchased Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s former home.

Since November, the singer and producer known as The Feeling has been busy traveling the world with her boyfriend, whom she calls ‘Cowboy.’ They’ve visited exciting destinations like Antarctica, Finland, Jamaica, Canada, and Turkey whenever they’ve had free time.

Before her relationship with Cowboy, Handler had been linked to a number of other prominent figures, including comedians Jo Koy and David Alan Grier, chef Bobby Flay, hotelier André Balazs, rapper 50 Cent, and former Comcast executive Ted Harbert.

Last month, the activist known for their work with Ice Out agreed to star in and help create Zoe Young’s new comedy series, “Townhouse,” which is currently being developed for Hulu. They will play a former reality TV star who has fallen from grace.

Comedian Hannah Gadsby will perform her show, The High and Mighty Tour, at the Paramount Theatre in Denver this Friday.

Author Chelsea Handler will finish her Las Vegas residency at The Cosmopolitan with shows on April 18th and May 30th.
