But Madeline is different – Witherspoon brings a sharper, more intense energy to the role. Madeline is a complex woman, fueled by anger, and she’s hiding a damaging secret.

Nicole Kidman has faced criticism for often playing similar roles – wealthy women with troubled marriages who enjoy luxury comforts and ocean views. However, it was in Big Little Lies that this character type truly came to life. She rightfully won an Emmy for her portrayal of Celeste Wright, a surprisingly complex character who deserves more recognition.

Alexander Skarsgård, an Emmy winner for his role in Big Little Lies, is a master at playing characters who are both charming and threatening, and he showcased this talent brilliantly in the show.
