Mark Bonnar is reprising his role as Mike Dryden for the seventh season of the popular BBC crime drama Line of Duty. He’ll be joining returning cast members Martin Compston, Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar, and Robert Carlyle when the new season airs next year.
I’m so excited for the new series! It’s not just Bonnar’s old second-in-command, Dryden, who’s returning – Owen Teale, Perry Fitzpatrick, and Christina Chong are all back as Chief Constable Osborne, DS Lomax, and DI Rogerson, which is fantastic news! I loved those characters and can’t wait to see what they get up to.
Joining the cast is Tom Weston-Jones, known for his role in Sanditon. He’ll be playing Detective Inspector Dominic Gough, the head of Tactical Operations Unit 7 (TO-7).

The BBC portrayed Weston-Jones as a charming and successful officer, known for dismantling several criminal organizations. However, they also suggested he has a hidden, more complex side.
Okay, so I just heard some news about Line of Duty season seven and it sounds intense! Apparently, AC-12 is gone – they’ve totally changed it and it’s now called the Inspectorate of Police Standards. They’re saying fighting corruption is harder than ever, and Steve, Kate, and Ted are taking on their trickiest case yet. I’m already on the edge of my seat!

Russell Gough is facing accusations of using his trusted role to sexually exploit others. However, some wonder if this case is intentionally drawing attention away from a more significant, hidden danger.
The cast of TO-7 is growing with the addition of Laura Aikman (known from Gavin & Stacey), Amy-Leigh Hickman (Ackley Bridge), and Levi Brown (This Town). They will be playing DC Paula Beckman, DC Nira Rashid, and DC Luke Tobin, respectively.

The cast also includes David Calder, known for his roles in Motherland and Rivals, Dominic Mafham from Vigil, Steven Elder, Sarah Andre White, who appeared in What It Feels Like for A Girl, Aimee Powell, and Naomi Yang of Under Salt Marsh.
The show’s creator, Jed Mercurio, expressed his excitement about the new cast members, calling them ‘brilliant.’ He also said he believes fans will be happy to see familiar actors returning from past seasons.
Line of Duty series 1-6 are available to stream now on BBC iPlayer.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a vibrant 100-page tribute to Harry Styles, is now available! You can find it at newsstands or purchase it online.
